This is the lowest IQ video on racism is London I have ever come across. White British people who live in London are a minority now, most of the white people you see are foreigners and crime is out of control. Once you are on your third mugging you are not taking any chances, you are keeping your eyes on the potential threat and getting away from them.

Why do Americans have such a boring obsession with race. Noone in London especially, gives a shit where anyone is from. People aren’t staring at you because you are black that is total bollocks and by talking absolute bollocks like this you are perpetuating an issue that just doesn’t exist here. Half of London is black and you are going on like you went there and stood out for being black. The most sense you spoke in this video is when you say “I don’t understand racism”

If someone stare’s at you, look straight back at them, if they raise an issue about it, I would ask them “What your problem? Or excuse me can I help you?”. It’s my experience that when someone is confronted about such things, they either have to put, or shut up. As a black person who has lived through some interesting experiences, I would say don’t put up with any s**t. Often the idiots and I include the racist in this are mostly all talk especially when fuelled by drink. In general I would say just be aware, stay safe, and enjoy Britain.

That's an EXTREMELY IGNORANT QUESTION to ask any Afro Diaspora person. First, it seems to me that those Africans that ask you that, wants to deny your/our African linage connected to Africa. When in fact, they know that Africans DID SELL AFRICANS to EUROPEANS. Now the Africans that Africans sold to them Europeans, is the ancestors of the Afro Diasporas. They were raped by the men of whatever countries they were forced upon. So, now we have an admixture of African linage with enslavers around the world. Many nations purchased slaves and participated in the act of slavery. Again, this is why we have an African linage of people with an admixture (mixed with another nations bloodline). So, that's who the Afro Diaspora people are, and we DEFINITELY have the blood line of Africans that Africans SOLD TO EUROPEANS. They could NEVER deny the African Diaspora their African linage. That's to deny they sold their people to the Europeans, which they did. I do not consider myself an African. I am an Afro Diaspora, which means I have linage from Africa and wherever else the Africans were sold around the world. Mind you, in many countries in Africa, there is plenty of people that is NOT full blood Africans. They to have an admixture of Arabs or Europeans. Let's be honest. I have NO WANT at all to be called African. But my ancestors were sold by their own people (Africans) to Europeans. I would school the hell out of there ass coming up to me asking me such an ignorant question. But really, what do I expect from people that sold their own people to Europeans. Girl, them people always in other people face trying to be seen. Just continue to be happy black and beautiful. PEACE

My partner is Venezuelan , in the area where I live in Plymouth , Devon I know a lady whom I thought was a Latina too , so I asked her if she was one out of interest . It turned out she was half oriental , south east asian , I'm aware of the business of microaggressions so I explained why I'd asked her , she was not in the least offended . My son is half Filipino and gets asked all the time what his heritage is , he is not bothered at all by peoples curiosity , my partner gets asked too , the point I'm making is that very often people are just interested . It's interesting when people have mixed parentage , my observation is that people seem to be quick to take offence these days , more often than not there is non meant. I get asked if I'm from Plymouth , I was born here but I don't have a local accent , when I visit other parts of the UK I get asked where I'm from , very often people are surprised I'm from the south west . You should visit other parts of the UK , London is an international city and not representative of the country in general.

Did you have “half” grandkids only in hopes they’d be treated differently? Meaning, was it a big thing in your family to date out when talking about dating with your kids? If your grandkids have a good personality they can assimilate into any group of people, if anything that “light skin” complex may not fare well in any racial setting even when racism isn’t present. Though “halfies” all your grandkids will be seen as white or black no matter what, rarely ever, especially given the way you explain it…will they be given the full treatment from both sides. It’s that half mentality that’s messes up mixed kids when it comes to being socially acceptable to all groups of people.

I think that's the ignorance we black Brits show when asking an American African where they're from. We Know the history of the Americas but we just can't help ourselves. I'm a 2nd generation British Caribbean, meaning my grandparents on my mum and dad sides moved here during Windrush, mum and dad are 1st born generation. My oldest sibling (sister) spent most of her time growing up with my nan (mums mum) so my sister was able to tell me how far back our lineage goes: Great great great great grandmother was a super darkskin woman who married an Irish immigrant and had 12 kids. Never was a slave. In fact, what my sister told me, she could've even been a pirate, or last of. We only know our heritage here in Britain because our black history in Britain isn't that far back. Other than Scotland, but even that history has been whitewashed. Brits in general are interested in the Americas and what life was and is like so we tend to ask questions that could be offensive, but we are a cheeky and sarcastic bunch here on this tiny island lol. The stares I would say is due to maybe you always rocking natural hair. Not a common sight for black British women unfortunately.

With regards to your first point, as a UK citizen, if we met I would ask where you were from because of your accent, (not skin tone). America would be too broad an answer for me personally. Reason being the UK is about the size of Texas so I would ask you to narrow it down a bit. Interest purposes only, climate, culture, time zone etc. If time allows depending on the situation, a friendly short conversation could take place because of it. This would be considered a normal, polite exchange. If I were to probe any further, for example no; where were you from originally? That would be out and out racism which has no part in our society. If the latter happened to you I carry the shame and can only apologise. If my perceived outlook on this is outdated, please someone in chat educate me. Take care all
@anonymes2884
2 жыл бұрын
We're nowhere near the size of Texas mate :). (try about a _third_ the size - big country that, over the pond) But aside from that, agreed. In my experience we don't care where your ancestors were from because in the UK that's understood to say very little about you. But we _do_ care about where _specifically_ you _personally_ are from because, rightly or wrongly, we believe that _does_ tell us something more about you (since, despite being only about a third the size of Texas, the UK is _heavily_ regionalised). So even though for many of us the _actual_ specifics of where in the US someone's from may mean very little (e.g. does Texas have a north/south divide like we do ? No idea personally so if someone specified "north-east Texas" I have zero context for what, if anything, that means), the _urge to ask_ is so ingrained it's basically automatic.

Sometimes groups of friends will just stop talking to each other just to stare at me! I’m not attention seeker! I mind my own business and I’m very quiet person so it really bother me because I don’t know why people just stare at me! It makes me question myself if I look different or strange or weird to a lot of people because the stares are constant and it’s not normal and doesn’t happen to anyone else I’m with or around!

Are you sure it’s because you stare at others and so they stare back? Most white people in England accept that their culture has gone. Mass immigration by people who will never integrate or assimilate into English culture is now so advanced that many places are almost English free. Over 900 years years of history is coming to an end.
