but how do you keep them from growing back? if the cut vines are not removed they will just regrow, at least the crap in my yard does?

Would tool places rent these (like Harbor Freight or Sunbelt here in GA)? That would sure make light of what takes days and breaks my back with my simple tools!

Do you treat it with anything after that? If I mow mine it comes back thicker.

The bamboo appears to me as a clumping one which is not invasive in the sense running bamboos are. Removing a clump of the sympodial ( clumping) bamboo is equally difficult and I think the equipment seen in action here will not suffice since there will be a large rhizome cluster under the soil to contend with.

I would think the smart snakes would run from all that noise and the dumb ones would be little tiny pieces.

This stuff has to be gotten under control it is horrible and the average person don't even know how bad this stuff is.Now a question of mine say this guy clearing is hired by the property owner and after this job is done he takes this machine to his home and or another job. With all of this said could he be spreading this invasive junk!?

I need this at my house!! (bamboo courtesy of an elderly neighbor who has since passed away) It has taken over 1/4 of our yard jumped the ravine and skipped the neighbor next to me on the other side and has grown in his neighbors yard. (and we are in the city limits and the city only cuts it when it interferes with the utility lines= once a year if lucky)

I am in Connecticut, & people are emailing me from every state and town for help. Ordinances are being passed rapidly. This Phyllostachys is giant cold hardy timber bamboo & is highly invasive running bamboo- not native to our continent. Destructive to ones foundation, concrete, sewers, septics driveway, concrete, chokes off all plants as it invades.Grows more aggressive each successive year. Is a noxious grass, grows 2 feet per day, & rhizomes on mature groves are relentless..need laws fast.
