No tangles. We are longlining with snap gear. Very fast, very effective, and rebaiting and resettling fast and efficient. Not so with Tub gear with the leader style gear. Great question thanks for asking and appreciate your comment. Have a blessed day. Tight lines.

Hey Dennis glad you like my low budget videos. I’ve got a clamp that I attach my GoPro to everything. Look at a few of my KZitem shorts and you’ll probably see it in the frame. I’m uploading the trip from yesterday as we speak. No fish caught but boy is that Hobie Outback stable! Thank you for your nice comment. You are right. We are fishing off the Oregon Coast here in this video but I have fished Alaska and there are lots of cold water fish up there. Very rich and abundant in their fish stocks up there. Appreciate your comment and support of channel.

I explained in the video but in case you missed it. We are shooting the longline in the morning and retrieving the entire line before the evening time to avoid unwanted catch and ensure we are targeting the halibut and lingcod. Short soak time. We also have to save time to rebait all the gear for the next morning and we can’t rebait the hooks if their still in the water. Appreciate your question and comment.

I’ve been charged by a grizzly bear in Alaska and dragged offshore with a sea lion that I played tug of war with while spearfishing so this kayak fishing is toned way down.

@Wolf In Wolves Clothing. my thoughts too. There’s too much going on with all those pins but prices are outrageous with arrows, broadheads, quivers, etc and I knew that sight would work and I’m not a fan of shooting past my comfort zone. I’ve shot both trad and wheels and have come to the conclusion I want the pin point accuracy of wheels. I’ll change bow sight at a later date. Very carefully. Last year I shot without pins using my Big Jim’s Longbow Thunderchild. That is an older bow sight I took off an older bow to try and save costs this year. I agree it’s too many pins but I was only using the top 3. 20,30, and 40. Appreciate the comment.

@Alexandros nikas do they even target grouper. I didn’t think so. There are no grouper on the west coast where we fish. We harvest only select fish groups based on allowable seasons and population estimates. Halibut like featured here is one of those species that can be as large as 250 pounds. Appreciate your comment and I’ll have to look into whether or not folks commercially fish grouper here in the USA.

@Yakventures 1.5 kg fish is a good size; mercy... grouper reaches up to 20kg and reproduces slowly... shame
