Thank you! I knew there had to be a way to do this without having a new key cut.

i drive an 11 lacrosse 2.4L 4 cyl and mine takes full synthetic. if you go to a local auto zone or pep boys n give them ur year model they can tell you exactly which oil to grab. also you can run lighter or heavier oils and the car will still drive fine (buicks are beast mode) lastly if you check your manual to the car it will tell you as well

Well the Trans oil capacity on Lacrosse is 9.5 liters, but when you service it, you only need 7 liters. *some oil wont be drained. dont overfill.

Was your transmission slipping ? Is that how you new to change it or just routine maintenance. My transmission is acting up on my 2010 cxl awd. Any advice?

What mine would do was over-rev in some instances before going into the next gear. It did this for some years before I finally changed it. No problems ever since. Closing in on 150k.

Isn’t there a transmission fluid filter that also needs to be replaced?
@ephraimlee8614
Жыл бұрын
Not sure. As an automatic transmission is usually a closed loop system, I've never seen one, only the gasket. I will check my Haynes repair manual and report if there is.

@@ephraimlee8614 I called a few places to get the trans fluid replaced and Aamco mentioned that there is a filter that needs to be replaced. I also found the filter in a trans fluid replacement kit on parts geek.

Hello, I have a v6 2010 Buick Lacrosse and my RPM is going all the way up to 4,000 RPM in second gear, it won't go into three gear all the time. Will changing the transmission fluid help? My car has 65,700 miles on it.
@ephraimlee8614
Жыл бұрын
Good morning. It sounds like the trans is going but that shouldn't be happening at such low miles. Mine used to slip a little years ago, but hasn't happened since the change and I'm almost at 145000. I always recommend starting low and go high with car repairs. Changing the trans fluid yourself is the cheapest way to begin. If that doesn't alleviate the slipping, it could be a sensor or worse, the trans might need to be replaced. Good luck.

Good morning. Yes, you do but the higher cost is usually cutting a new key. This saves at least that expense.

@@ephraimlee8614 ok thanks. I’m looking at other options after my dealership said 165$ to replace one key fob. I think that is ridiculous and a ripoff. There’s no way that process should be that expensive.

Worked great -- most appreciative! Using a picture nail was key in removing the pin. For our car, we had to ensure the doors were closed when doing the progamming steps (on/off/change key/on/off).

My wife's key fob broke. The spring loaded flip housing broke . The fob housing is fine. I still have the key blade. Can you buy the spring loaded piece that the key blade fits into? So I can repair what I have without going to a locksmith. Canadian cars will not let you program a new fob without going to dealer :o(

Good afternoon. If you still have the cut key from the old fob, you should be able to purchase a fob from the dealer and have it programed through a private vendor, depending on the age of the vehicle. A major expense I found was the cutting of the new key. I hope this helps.

Although Canada may make it a little difficult to bypass the expensive charges from a dealership, it can be done. If not, at least you save on the recutting of a new key.

Why didn't I know this before? Thanks so much! My aftermarket FOB blade receptacle was a smidge shorter inside. Just a bit of filing on the end of my old key blade and the roll pin lined up. Thanks for pointing out this little known trick!!!
