The first thing I'd do is get rid of that awful ring on your snare, it's so ridiculously distracting.

I have it and, indeed, it has not problematic noise floor. The brick PSU helps a lot with that actually.
@rickrockzyootoob
2 ай бұрын
@@mixedbymikael The 'noise floor' you're talking about is caused by people cranking the gain on the EQ too high. In other words -- improper gain staging. I bought this preamp, and I did the same thing, but once I turned down the EQ's gain, the noise was gone. If you disengage the EQ, just the preamp alone is incredibly quiet.

That's a great hard rock tone, what drive pedal are you using? Joyo ultimate drive?
@levonatkinson
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah Ultimate drive is great for a classic to hard rock sound, either pushing the preamp full volume and no gain with the toggle switch to low, or with the gain up 10-15% for more drive 🙂

Nice Pre-amp, I purchased a WA73-EQ and Love it. The Alctron sounds nice and I wish you will with it. I was thinking about getting one so I can use the Alctron and the Warm Audio together for stereo EQ or warming up the Audio running it through the both pre-amps on the mix bus. A Gift for you, don't place your gear on the table when you can build an inexpensive Studio Rack. kzitem.info/news/bejne/wnx9znmBf2tpg6w I love mine and how it looks. Enjoy!

@@levonatkinson honestly, drummers do different things with synths than keyboard players. I don't want to say it's "better", but they tend to be a whole lot less composed, have a lot more feeling for rhythm, and otherwise make for better knob twisters. In other words, drummers just play it, and don't get caught up in programming.
