I love KZitem! I learned how to replace the rear tailights on a '95 Camry here. And, now I need to recover the console cover (worn from resting my arm there as I travel). This video is quick, clear, direct and makes it look like I job I would not have to pay for!! How cool is that? Thanks!! (And, your little power screwdriver is great, but your staple gun is..... outdated - do yourself a favor and get a new one, eh?) Thanks again! You've probably saved me over $100!

Hi Joshua. You’re correct, the plastic is extremely hard! You didn’t mention which brand stapler you are using, so that might be the problem. We recommend an Arrow T-50 stapler with Ace 1/4" staples. We've been using this combination for years and the staples go in 99% of the time. Longer staples won’t work well. Make sure to press down firm while stapling. You can see in our video that we’re actually pressing the stapler down with both hands before stapling. Hope this helps!

Ok, I have now tried 3 different brands of two different sizes of staples. Ace 1/4, Ace 5/16, Arrow 1/4, Arrow 5/16 and another off brand. The 1/4 staples are 6mm and the 5/16 are 8mm. All three brands and all mm staples 6 and 8 just hit that plastic and bunch right up. So either my plastic is SUPER plastic or something is not right here... Name brand stapler btw also...

Ok I just got 5/16" arrow staples and it came out perfect it did specify to use Ace hardware on the paper work so my bad I was just frustrated. But it came out perfect its easy highly recommended. 5 stars for the video and for providing this for us to do at home. Easy easy easy. Thanks

Arrow brand staples bend easily and are horrible. If possible, use 1/4" staples from Ace Hardware. Their brand of staple goes into that extremely hard plastic each time using an Arrow T-50 stapler. We've easily reupholstered 1000+ lids using a T-50 stapler and Ace Hardware brand staples. The Ace model number is 22271.

My review. You definiately need a heavy duty staple gun. I had one with good Arrow staples yet I had to try multiple times to get them to stick in the plastic. The instructions are worthless because the photos are more fuzzy than "Big Foot" sightings pics. I had some trouble on the front curves getting the pleats right so they wouldn't show from the sides. I still had a few folds, visible only from the side edge, but not bad. Matched perfectly. Overall an excellent product if you have patience.
