this song largely flew under the radar. i dont think it got released as a single. & dont think it recieved much attn as an album filler.. doesnt that blow your.mind?.. that song floored me when i first heard it, especially given the age of it's auteur's.. the unexpected maturity alone should have propelled it. especially since the redcoats hadnt arrived yet...

I play guitar in a Beach Boys tribute band. This is really one of the easier songs to play. Songs like All Summer Long and When I Grow Up To Be A Man are much more challenging. Find a good teacher or experienced guitarist to show you how to play it, you will enjoy it. Good luck and keep playing!

"The Warmth of the Sun" is a song that welcomes me back every time I hear it. I appreciate Brian sharing the context of writing this song - in the immediate wake of JFK's assassination. It gives an added connection to this beautiful song to hear Brian's solo version here as he recounts how "something took us over", a description of what the initiator of something compelling experiences when that moment occurs. This studio version of "Warmth" is excellent as well, but it's great to see and hear this and see Brian Wilson at work in the studio on one of many musically innovative Beach Boys songs.
