Loving these videos keep them coming. I've just done a rewatch of seasons 1 to 4 and wow the last 6 episodes of season 1 starting with Wolf and the Lion is just brilliant episode after brilliant episode. I think season 3 of the show has higher highs for me, but season 1 is just soooo consistently great
@SaintWombo

Couldn’t agree more, Season 1 may be the least hype out of the 4 but its hands down the best written. Trying to figure out which episodes should get a Best of Thrones has been real tricky cuz the other seasons have 2 or 3 obvious choices while the entire last half of Season 1 is just non stop quality

Ok the Varys thing about knowing every kid still confuses me like was Tyrion just implying how he uses children as spies? Because it sorta sounded like he was implying that he did some bediddling but that wouldn’t make sense because Varys has no balls or sex drive so am I misunderstanding what they’re implying
@SaintWombo
Ай бұрын
It’s a common rumor/assumption at the Red Keep that Varys does some bediddling. But in a later conversation with Oberyn, Varys makes it clear that he is asexual and always has been. Those kinds of rumors would probably exist anyway because Varys is a foreigner and a eunuch, but enemies like Littlefinger also spread them intentionally. So yeah Tryion was definitely buying into that rumor and throwing shade at Varys. This scene demonstrates that the Tyrion and Varys still don’t fully trust each other since Varys responds by saying “One day (maybe when u no longer think I’m a diddler) i will tell you of my childhood trauma.” It very nicely sets up the future progression of their friendship.
@danielcardona2714

@@SaintWombo what the hell is Varys gonna bediddle kids with? He’s a eunuch. Also I’d assume he was asexual if they cut his balls off before adolescence
@SaintWombo
Ай бұрын
Eunuchs would always have a lowered libido than they would if uncut, so maybe by a loose definition they would all be asexual. But if by asexual you mean no drive or desire at all, then i don’t think being snipped before puberty guarantees that. Tbh though I’m not educated enough to be sure, I’m just guessing.

I partially agree. But even if the payoffs were kept virtually the same, we know the execution will be 10x better in the books. Dany going crazy and burning King’s landing, i’m almost certain that’s gonna happen, but she isn’t gonna go from 0-60 like she did in the show. So i doubt George had to rewrite much cuz there’s no way he would have bungled the execution that hard. I also just think he’s just kinda tired of ASOIAF and prefers to be working on other projects.

I appreciated your investigation of Aegon and his parents’ impact on his behavior. For me it raises some important questions and has a bit of the “which came first, the dragon or the egg”. I do think there’s a lot more nurture than nature in him, but I also think back to GOT and Tommen. A genuine psychopath who is given a big playground. Thanks for the thoughtful insights. Looking forward to more :)

I feel like so much of the choices they made in this season were “fan service” in lieu of cogent storytelling. The carbon freeze pulls in the OG Gen X fans, Moff takes an obvious bit from Breaking Bad and then Baby Yoda kind of bridges the gap between old fans and new. Disney wants to have their cake and eat it too in terms of having wide appeal and it causes them to stretch the narrative and universe too thin. Very solid write up young sir. Looking forward to seeing what else you’ve got in store :) Also… 20:30. Language! 😂
