Imagine casually walking down the street of your city and seeing Miles playing his songs for people in cafe...

This was promotion for his album normally he would perform in a recordstore but there were too many fans so he decided to play outside....

I love Bowie. But you'll NEVER find crap like this in a Bryan Ferry demo stash, cos it ain't there... He wrote the whole 1st two Roxy albums, all his first attempt songs were used, as his introduction to the World Of Music making, stepping up and forming a band, after teaching Art for a while since College. Bowie loved what those guys were doing (saying GLAM was only ever him, "Roxy & T.Rex for 18 months"). David was trying all sort to breakthrough for ages until he lucked upon Mick Ronson... THANK God he did. Best years of Rock ever. But for perfection consider Roxy Music's rise and what they brought!

If, say, Oasis had written this song at the height of Brit Rock it would be as well known as Wonderwall.

Destiny, it's playing hide-and-seek with me It's messing with my memories The ones that always get a hold of me Baggio, you're showing me the way to go When I was feeling lost and low I used to sit and watch you steal the show The deepest dark despairs Romance in our hearts will leave us there It leaves us in a heap upon the floor Yet still I'm wanting more Wannabe, you'll never be as strong as me You're fighting with the enemies The ones that always get a hold of me The deepest dark despairs Romance in our hearts will leave us there It leaves us in a heap upon the floor Yet still I'm wanting more I'm crying out in dreams Where I am something more than what you see I'm not talking impossibilities To bring us back together Rambling on and on Like broken pieces from your favorite breakup song Those words don't mean a thing where I come from But I'll sing them forever

Not totally sad, but sweet and sour or bitter sweet, like life and all the Bowie's songs 're indeed. Bref, c'est la vie, comme on dit ici en France avec fatalisme 🤗
