It's one of my all-time favorites. Played this on Country 105 fm in Calgary, Alberta, when it was first released.

Floridian here with some Seminole blood in my veins from my moms side (her great grandma was half Seminole and Italian), this song still brings tears to my eyes. I used to enjoy talking for former tribesmen as a child, and learning of a culture and heritage always left me awestruck, immensely proud and inspired by. I may not have enough Seminole blood in to call myself one them, but I've always believed that I was a Seminole spiritually.

As a child, I used to hear this while riding around with my dad in his truck, and it really gave me some pretty deep feelings about loss and conservation. I honestly forgot how good this song is for decades until the other day when it popped into my head, and it’s been on heavy rotation ever since. It’s in a way like reliving part of my childhood in southern Louisiana, but I still feel the same as I did then, just with the details filled out and a broader understanding.
