Great video, I like your model. How are you apllying the voltage on the "sample" when is your capilary made from plastic? Thank you.
@playingwithions
7 ай бұрын
Hi kubasmetana5525! The voltaje was applyed by inserting a metalic pin in the tube. The voltage is applied to the pin, which is in contact with the liquid.

Nice video! I noticed that sometimes the mass spec in our lab doesn't generate ionized droplets, in other words, the liquid can not be emitted into the orifice. We apply 3 kV but the signal is always not stable. Do you have any ideas?

Thank you very much for this nice video! I am now working with ESI now, and I find it is easily clogged. Do you have any suggestions to work with the clogging?
@playingwithions
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Xuemei Cheng. Thanks for your positive feedback! Some tips to prevent clogging: make sure your solution is clean, the environment you are operating is dust-free, and your solution does not leave a solid residue when it evaporates, use the largest possible ID for your application. See different sizes here: www.fossiliontech.com/nanoesi-emitters ), and more info on how to choose the right emitter here: www.fossiliontech.com/nano-esi I hope this helps!

For chain ejection long molecules are rejected due to what?
@playingwithions
2 жыл бұрын
In chain ejection, long molecules are ejected due to Coulomb repulsion. A key difference between chain ejection and ion evaporation is that the energy required to eject each link is lower than the energy required to eject the entire molecule at once. I hope this helps! :)

Can you recommend the whole setup (machine) for electro spraying. Which company is better with better efficiency. Name of company and model number of device.
@playingwithions
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trending, Thanks for your comment! The ionization efficiency in nano-electrospray depends on the emitter. The ion source provides positioning, voltage, connection to the MS, and so on. In short, the ion source of your MS should work fine. If you are interested in performance, choose the best emitters. Fossiliontech sells and ships worldwide. You can check the nano-esi emitters here: www.fossiliontech.com/nanoesi-emitters
