I believe they are illegal to use for deer hunting in the state of Wisconsin. Not sure why but I wish it wasn't because this would sure help a LOT; especially if it were a green laser which is seen much better during the day.

I realize this is an old video about a discontinued product. I'd like to know how a guy reticle ranging can come within 8 seconds of the guy using a LRF. I have a hard time believing that is possible, unless maybe the LRF guy is blind;-)

Not to mention crippling our horses & cattle with holes & tunnels that destroy pastures & farm land. Maybe this sniper training will be the schooling for the next great ISIS elimination-invasion round. lets go for the little ones first, that way they wont grow up to replace their dead parents that blow themselves up. ..Good Idea Chandima.. but then who would fix your hair ?

+SWR Beyond Human the problem is not acailability. The problem is that lasers for aiming on a gun is a big nono in Switzerland. You only can get them legally with a hard to get special permit.( the same permit for full auto guns and surpressors) i know it is just used for zeroing, but you could aswell use it as an aiming laser. Maybee i have to look into that. Because its purpose is only for zeroing, it might be legal. Sey for awful english. Regards from Switzerland

You ALWAYS range with the Radius with your scope at ZERO on elevation and Windage. If you Zero your rifle at 100 yards then Zero the Radius at the same and make sure both turrets are set to ZERO. The Radius and scope are aligned out to infinity. To range you simply can't have any elevation or windage dialed in...

looks awesome, but if I am dialled in my turrets for a 1000 yard shot how with the RF know that I am looking at that 1000 yard target if the barrel is pointing above it?

How is the Radius different from the Barrett BORS? Other than price and greater compatibility with more scopes given the BORS actually dials in adjustments for you. Is the BORS what the Radius is competing against or is it other rangefinding techniques? Great looking product.
@TheCameraMan1979
8 жыл бұрын
+Steve Carter BORS doesn't tell you the range that the target is at, it will let you know what your elevation turret range is set to not the range to the actual target. I was lucky enough to preorder a radius and it's a great piece of equipment.
@stacarter
8 жыл бұрын
+TheCameraMan1979 , thanks for that. So both aid in target engagement. In theory, if you had both, you'd read from the Radius, punch that into the BORS and shoot. Or drop $25k on one of those Tracking Point jobs.

How do you know SWR Radius (range finder) it is ranging your target? Not something 2 inches above your target or under (left or right)? You didn't show us how to "zero" this range finder with the rifle or scope. I like the idea but looks to me like this device will give a bunch of false measurements.
@ArgosySpecOps
7 жыл бұрын
Guy at a local gun stored showed me that it's simply a matter of switching the ranging laser to a setting that is visible to the naked eye when zeroing. That way you just superimpose the visible laser dot onto the cross-hairs of your scope reticle.
@TimeTraveler1900
8 жыл бұрын
This zeroing process will not work for ranging targets that are very long range. If you zero the Radius relative to either the scope or the barrel, you will lose your zero as soon as you have to do your come-up on the rifle/scope. The best way to do this is to mount a small red dot sight on the rifle which is permanently zeroed to the Radius. That way you can range up to 1 mile, and not care about where the barrel or scope are pointing.
@Paelorian
7 жыл бұрын
That's a good way to do it. Another good option is to mount it to the scope so that the Radius's zero follows adjustments to the scope and is always pointing where the scope is pointing.
@kylevanwinkle2081
7 жыл бұрын
Radio Waves this wouldn't work because the scope doesn't move the reticle inside the scope moves essentially you would have the turn dial on the scope and radius equally yo keep zero. Another issue is if the mount flexes independent yo the optic the zero is lost.
