You do the kind of paddling I aspire to! Poking around rocks and arches such as this video, lumpy waters in waves and currents, surfing…keep these videos coming! They’re super inspiring. SYOTW 😎

“I’m not the greatest roller in the world…” You’re being modest! I’ll be glad when my rolling skills are as good as yours. Will be getting lots of practice in the coming months, so I’ll get there! SYOTW 😎

So much fun! I stumbled upon your page and remember your articles from Paddling Magazine, so it was fun to watch your videos. I’ve just got back into kayaking after a (too) long hiatus and now live in the SGIs, where I can be out on the water more frequently; as soon as my new boat arrives! SYOTW 😎👍

Thank you for the compliment! It’s very nice of you :) You are correct - I have done a lot of whitewater paddling (not that I’m terribly good at it) in the past, and love kayak surfing too! That kind of crossover paddling is really fun, and great for skill development!

Well, I am a Pisces! Ha! Thank you - it’s mostly just time invested (some might say wasted) - given enough practice we get better at things. I’m not that great a paddler, but I do really love it :)

It's always good to get out! :) And it was so calm for winter - a very mellow few hours on the water, in a place that's better known for being rough and windy. Its amazing to have a spot like this in our 'backyard'!

@@alexmatthewsseakayaker9138 that’s so nice you have a place like this close to you! I’d be on the water every day 😂

Fantastic fun. I'll strongly consider the Karla for my next play boat. Have a Delphin now which works well among the rocks here in Maine.

The Delphine is a great option, and its poly construction makes it very impact resistant of course. It does paddle very differently from the Karla though. Btw, we tend to be pretty hard on boats, and therefor really like Current Designs’ ‘Heavy Water’ layup. It adds a few pounds, but it definitely results in a stiffer, tougher composite kayak. Let us all know what you think of the Karla when you try one!
