I always have love all James Cameron films stories for 1 simple reason.......he never care about how complex the story is.....the care about his CHARACTERS, all James Cameron films from Terminator 1 to Avatar the Way of Water are stories about..............people, human and flawed people....sometimes they aren't even human but he made you cry for a TERMINATOR, he mad you love Jack and Rose, he made you love Jake and Neytiri and PANDORA, thats always the key and the reason I can casually jump watch back to back T1 and T2 and not feel bore, while a masterpiecelike The Dark Knight (a movie I adore) I need sometimes drink a coffee because sometimes feel like drag if I miss one second I feel I lost an important scene or dialogue or twist.....James Cameron films are always straight forward, yes simple, but what they lack in story, they put on characters and that's the most important part on any story. This is why today Avatar 2 is now sitting at third place in the highest grossing films of all times, a feat that Cameron didnt need 10 years of sequels and universe and multiple films to accomplish.....he did it with just 2 simple stories that EVERYONE can enjoy (yes I know you there YOU internet critics that will say no one likes these films.......and here we are with another 2 billion box office monster, disputing how Avatar 1 and now 2 didn't have any cultural impact....keep saying that to yourselves by the time the THIRD ONE DO THE SAME). Fantastic video man, great to see more positive videos about this amazing film, I absolutelly love it, watch it 3 times and now waiting to drop at D+ or any place they will put it to watch it again and again.

Bad movies both imo, not a single original idea in either movie and full of woke BS symbolism and more plotholes than a new build. James Cameron has been done for a long time and I'm pretty sure I remember him saying this movie has to hit 3 billion to even break even.

I want Hollywood to learn valuable leasons from successful movies. Don't give us half baked movies with gimmicks. We are currently going through the cameo gimmicks running off the tank of Nostalgia. Pretty soon people won't be pulled off of Nostalgia. We want good stories with Beauty and wonder. Top Gun Maverick and Avatar 2 are both successful because of great filmaking.

It only gets hate from the woke losers who managed to destroy everything we love about the western culture: movies, books, tv, sports, socializing, dating, free speech, even cartoon characters for God's sake. I personally loved it and I intend to go see every Avatar movie coming out from now on, supposing there's gonna be any.

Way Of Water is such a layered and detailed film. Quarritch is definitely the best film antagonist of the 2020's so far. I love the detail they put into this ethereal bond he shares with Neytiri over their own hypocrisies. During the end of the film, while Neytiri and Tuq are locked underground, and Jake and Quarritch are fighting, the film ties them together with Neytiri's leitmotif. At the end of the movie when they're on the rock and Jake pulls in spider, "a son for a son", an excerpt from "taruk makto assembles the clan" from the first film plays, Jake no longer unifying the clans in a time of great sorrow, but his broken family together after a deep and interpersonal tragedy. I mean hell despite Neteyam's bare bones screentime, debatably even BEFORE his death he had the biggest impact on this film, especially for Lo'ak who spends the majority of the film unknowingly emulating Neteyams better character traits. I.E covering for au'num even after the crap he made him go through, and his treatment of Payakon. Saw this movie six times.

One of the main differences between the psychology of a fictional character and the psychology of real people is that real people tend to be much more self-contradictory. We have coherent images of who we each individually think that we are, so we all start from the standpoint that people have consistent motivations and beliefs. But just a cursory look at other people, especially ones we don't like, shows that we are very conflicted creatures who don't know what we do and rarely make sense. We can easily detect the mote of inconsistency in our brother's eye, but it is seldom realized that we ourselves as individuals see the world obstructed by a beam of hypocrisy.

The movies definitely get better and better the more you watch them. I don't think a lot of those one and done critics understand that. Seen TWOW 5 times in cinemas in 4 different formats. Tragically where I live there's no HFR 3D screenings so I had to travel out for it. Wish I could give my friends and family the full experience, but the story and characters more than carry the movie on their own. I'm especially surprised by the fact there's a guy in this movie that is figuratively me. Didn't expect that at all. Closest I've ever seen to my inner thoughts and behaviour on screen to the point I've been self-reflecting hard since I first saw him because a lot of his problems and character themes match my own. I dunno if I was supposed to get this attached to the villains, but there you go. Power of the acting and directing here.
