Does this bike have the reliability it takes to make a very long journey (50000km+) I'm not afraid of it breaking down but I dont want to repair it every month you see :)

Not sure being your comment is 4 years old you're still interested but I'd definitely get the 950 for that... more complicated engine but would eat up miles better. I'd fully rebuild the whole bike before attempting that

Na mate, made it up as i went. bent the hoops up out of 12mm round bar and some 25x6mm flat around the mudguard extender and up to the luggage plate on top. It's solid as a rock. You can see in the vid where i've mounted it up.

I love reading reviews where noobs are like the xr 250 is good for tight technical stuff, xr 400 is an over all bike, the xr 650 is for open desert only blah blah blah, What does this vid show? it's 95% rider 5% bike. Nice riding man thumbs up from me!

Hey Maral430. I've been on a few big trips on this bike. the biggest was a bit over 5000km in 3 weeks. It is great offroad and on back country roads and can carry a decent load. It's not so good for highway stuff though and being a big single it does vibrate a fair bit. For me it's offroad ability more than makes up for what it lacks in road manners.

@kyjenkin It's great fun to ride offroad! Tyres were Mitas E07. I've found them to be reliable on the road and pretty decent on dry dirt roads, Not much good in anything soft though. Now running Dunlop D606 which has been a vast improvement for offroad riding. Gearing was stock 16/42
