Is a tone ring just another name for a reluctor ring? And can you buy them separately?

I have chevy colorado 2007 with 2.9 eng. 2 wheels drive LT. I am trying to buy the speed sensor for the front passenger side and the dealer said they discontinue the part. What can I do to fix my truck? Do you have any idea?

SKF offers all of the replacement speed sensors which can be looked up on SKFpartsinfo.com, we also offer a technical sheet TT11-009 listing all the different choice sensor cords with corresponding OEM numbers and you can watch our SKF video on KZitem showing how to replace the sensor cap

If I have the original hubs on my 08 2wd Canyon, can just the speed sensor be replaced without having to replace the hub? Which RPO code am I specifically looking for?
@SKFPartsInfo

Yes, just the speed sensor can be changed. RPO codes are typically located on the sticker in your glove box. Thanks for watching!

Is the speed sensor itself specific to L or R side, is it just because the bracket on the wire is specific to L or R side?

Did you ever find an answer to this? The auto parts store gave me the passenger side assembly when in fact I had ordered the driver side. Of course I didn’t realize until I was about the install the bracket, so instead of removing the new hub assembly I just switched the cord to the original bracket - the ABS light has gone out but the ABS is activating under normal braking situations. I am going to switch the pins on the connector and see if that fixes the problem… I believe the ABS module is receiving a reverse signal as normally this sensor would be detecting wheel speed in the opposite direction. Anyways.. sorry for the rant. Any thoughts?

i have a question will this sensor when it goes bad will it make a funny sound i have a gms canyon 2004 and the abs light does be on and when your driving it it makes a funny sound can this sound be coming from this sensor

The ABS sensor would not be making any noise unless perhaps the sensor head is hitting the tone ring More likely the noise is created by your EBCM. Have the ABS code read and a full diagnostic of the system conducted to determine the root problem. Thanks for watching!

Right now we don't have a tech tip video on removal. We'll keep this in mind while making future video tips. There are bearing removal pointers in the bearing manuals on our webstie: www.vsm.skf.com/us/en/literature . Best practice is to have an experienced tech remove it for you. Thanks for watching!

looking for that tool to insert abs sensor on the hub. Cant seem to find it on you website. any chance you might know the part number? already called technical support but it seems that they cant help

yoshioscar That tool is not available on our website, it is a custom, one-off tool we made out of PVC. You can use a PVC threaded plug from a hardware store and notch it out where the abs cord will hit. This will ensure a solid surface in order to tap the abs cap on evenly.

Question: My brakes start pumping back at me like I'm breaking hard the my ABS Fault light comes on. Does this sound like this part?
@SKFPartsInfo
8 жыл бұрын
It sounds like a bit more information or diagnostic may be needed. If the brakes are pulsating when braking this may be a sign of an ABS issue or it could possibly be warped rotors. Its good to have a certified technician read any codes that may be stored and do an complete inspection of the braking system.

Thank you for the video. I have 2007 Colorado 2WDr ABS only in the front. Turns out the code I'm getting is C0035 that says "Rear Right Sensor Circuit open or Short". I have no sensors in the back. After unplugging the front passenger, I got two codes. I'm thinking it might be the drivers side front? Anyone else experience this. 2007 Colorado 2WD WT (Work Truck). Thanks!
