I have a question to the mechanic the mechanic please listen to my question carefully I'll try to keep it simple.. I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 engine and my ABS light is on I've had it inspected or analyzed for code for code a couple of different times by a couple of different service stations and they all are telling me it's my ABS module that needs to be replaced.. So my question is can I trust the code that's coming up that is saying that it is my ABS schedule that is failing or is failing or could it really only be a wheel sensor in a wheel. Also if it truly is the module itself that has failed do i need to replace both the module and pump or just the module. I can both pump and module for 275.00 and im told if i buy both together it is already programmed for my veichle. Please answer these questions because i do not know if the code for a bad module is always really the module when it could be a sensor problem in a wheel itself.

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. It’s possible that it’s your module however it’s also possible it’s something more simple. A few things to check. First, ensure all tires are fully inflated to the manufacturers recommended psi. Low tire pressure can lead to this code by default. Second, check all wheel wells to ensure your speed sensors are properly connected & dry. Any loose connections or moisture inside electrical connection point can cause sporadic behaviors. Next, check out the link below, it shows us performing a system reset. kzitem.info/news/bejne/p6tqnaaNenZkY6A Let’s start there. 😎👍

$40 for 2 ABS Sensors. Whole hub assembly $180 for 2. At least for my Colorado.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Hi and thanks. I got the exact same error message. ABS and wheel sensor are one of the same cable or a different one?

Where did you find that hub at $50.?

I've seen them on Amazon for $68 minimum, but at that price point I'd question their build quality. Cheap parts are cheap for a reason.

Ruben Alvarado Thanks for watching. We believe it fits 2008-2012. If you purchase it online, the website should have a vehicle compatibility section where you enter in all your vehicle information and the website will tell you if it fits your vehicle. Keep us posted on your project. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩
