For Intex pools that size and larger, the minimum size pump I'd use is the Intex 2500gph cartridge filter/pump or 1600 sand filter/pump. Tip from a former pool boy.

Stray cats are a problem with these pools in Phoenix. In this heat they get desparate for a drink so they hop up on the inflated part, dig their claws in to bend down for a drink and pop holes in it

I've had this same pool for 4 years and used the original pump. Only had 1 year with problem water and that's because I didn't cover the pool after use. Make sure to keep that pool covered and you'll have absolutely no issues.

I’m on year 3 with this model and added a solar cover this year and what a difference. The pool is much cleaner and easier to maintain, original pump too. Trying to find a slow leak now. We have to refill the ring every day or so.

Brilliant idea in finding the slow leak. I luv my pool and don’t want to buy another one. It’s also turning green all the time! I will try these ideas bc the ppl is savable! Thank uuuuu!!

Its pool season again. I just hauled out my 16x42 pool out of my storage for a FIFTH season. Noticed a mouse made a home in the tarp that it was wrapped in. The mouse ate a lot of tarp and also ate about a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom. I think this should be an easy patch. Anyways, hope you are still going strong with your INTEX. I'm pretty sure this is the last season for mine, although I said this 2 seasons ago so you never no. BTW, I only use liquid choline for my pool. About 1/3 of a bottle every week and keep the cover on - always nice and clear.

Pop a floater in it, and use a clarifier tablet in the suction and it will stay absolutely clear. Floater is $5 and the tablet is $4, and lasts for more than a month in that small size pool.

We tried the floater last year, pool went green, did a shock and kept running test strips to try and get the ph right, never could get it to stabalize for long. From what I've seen in other reviews I'm not the only one having this problem. Opted to try and increase filtration this year and see how it goes.

There should be nothing negative about getting a pool if you just keep it clean you won’t have to use as much water and you won’t have to clean it as often if you make sure it’s clean.(because it has a vacuum a net and a tarp you could put over or under it so it won’t get dirty).It also looks like you put the pool in the dirtiest part of your yard which will not be a surprise if it rains and that attracts mud or if it attracts dust,just from being in the dirt.So if you keep it in a CLEAN part of your yard AND make sure that you clean it after your done using it you won’t have to use as much water,and I won’t kill your water bill.Because sometimes using to much chemicals to clean out the pool will be expensive and you’ll be spending more money than you should.Thats just my opinion.

BIRDS are a HUGE problem , 50 or more pinholes from birds . It was the same with the 18 x 48 for 600.00 90 day warranty on liner . You are lucky if the pool lasts the summer .

The upper ring deflates to nothing, then the water pours out. I can't find a leak except for the valve. I tried phoning the 1800#, they are too busy to take my call. Disappointed with the pool.

Questions about leveling. Yes it needs to be level but you can be off up to about 4 inches without it being an issue. You'll have a deep end and a shallow end.
@burbbilly
7 жыл бұрын
I know you have one of these pools but I'm going to disagree with you on this point. 4 inch out level and the kids start swimming around in a circle and you might blow a side out and dump the whole thing. IMO

I have a 10ft×24in pool like this. I do not have a completely level area but my most level area is about a 2in difference and it has held up so far. I am looking into getting some soil to level out the ground though, because better safe than sorry!
@burbbilly
7 жыл бұрын
I would. If it's not level you'll have the "deep end" and the "shallow side" not too big of a deal at 2" but the deep end will put more pressure on that wall. I try to get it as level as possible. We are looking at getting a 24 foot pool, if we do I'll video the set up. Appreciate the post!

I also am struggling because of the pump issue. I have not converted to a sand filter yet but did purchase a intex skimmer basket. I thought this would be compatible with my summer waves. The suction fitting is different. Before I spend tons of money I don’t need to do you know if there is a fitting that is compatible?

ok lol I'll give that a try, I'm assuming you're talking about cleaning the outside of the pool?
@ediebritt111

No, I am referring to maintaining pool ph and cleanliness inside the pool, the water. Its cheaper than pool chemicals, and works just as well. Google BBB pool treatment, or trouble free pools, you will see its not a new method, but its a long standing inexpensive way to keep your pool clean and clear all summer.
@burbbilly

I'll check it out, I switched the brand I was using for shock and for some reason that made a big difference. I found that the regular gals or bleach are a low level of bleach and the shock is really high concentrate. I'll be sure to give the bbb method a go though and run a review on the results. Thanks for the post/tip

What does the pump do? Filter the water or just keep it moving?
@burbbilly
7 жыл бұрын
Both. Pump moves water by pulling it from the intakes and discharges it back into the pool at another point. In that flow of water is the filter. Water passes through it going from the intakes to the discharge point. Some have inline filters, some have the filter built into the pump. The one I am using now is a sand filter, water is moved across the sand filtering it that way. Not sure I have a favorite system yet. Still testing.

my pool wont fill with air, have used an intex pump and an electric pump, definitely no holes, so anyone any idea what the problem could be. Someone said the air valve, but just don't know.
@burbbilly
7 жыл бұрын
If there are no holes then it's not getting air. Just to be sure are you getting the air nozzle past the second flap on the air valve? Sometimes you have to squeeze it to get it to crack open and get the nozzle past it.
