I miss listening old school 10,000 Maniacs. When I hear them, it makes my heart feel that tinge of nostalgia. I first started listening to them in 1987 when I was 17. I saw Natalie 3X, eventually bringing my son to her Leave Your Sleep Tour. I use to be obsessed with her! Now, its just fun to see them on You Tube every now and then.

I was part of the staff at this concert. What a memory this is. I remember directing people where to park and this VW Jetta rolls up on me and rolls the window down. The girl inside says "I'm with the band" and I said I don't care who you are, you have to park over there. Lol...I had no idea who Natalie Merchant was, but I am still kicking myself to this day.

Cannot believe I'm seeing this. I will never forget this show and the impact it had on my 10,000 Maniacs listening reign for decades to come. Such a great day . . .

I remember a show at a small Fredonia bar, drunk as usual and she let me sit on the edge of the postage stamp sized stage. One of America's great original bands, RIP Mr.Buck. Wishing Chair still does it for me. God bless the 10,000 Maniacs and their families.

This video is superb. It has such raw energy. It is a time capsule of the good ole days of the early 1990's. Thank you for posting and sharing.

I've been in search of this for a looooong time. Thank you so much. I couldn't watch this at the time it aired, due to church family.

Rare to hear them do Cotton Alley by this point, a solid rendition too. I saw them on the Hope Chest Tour around this time at the Beacon Theater in NYC and they of course did all the early material there.

I was there. I remember the show went on a few hours late due to some missing equipment. You can see me in the video; I'm standing behind the stage. Stage right, left side of video, just to the left of the two guitar necks you see. I got a great picture of Natalie singing and dancing framed by the necks of the guitars. It was a good day.

I was just to the right of the stage under the speakers. I remember the power kept failing due to the severe storm the night prior.

lol. I shot this video! This was probably one of my favorite shows by them. And now I wonder if you are one of the people I would trade tapes with back then because of the Earth Day stuff at the end of the video.

To see them at a concert like this would be epic. Love it when they're so close and mingle. Looked like some got too 'familiar' running up on the stage though....Natalie wasn't fazed it seemed.

Why did she wear a nightgown to this concert?

With that voice and talent, she can wear whatever she wants and is still beautiful....so much better than those almost nude outfits we see so often these days.
