I find Kenneth Clarke's distinction between the nude and the naked that you refer to is useful on occasions but the dichotomy leads to difficulties in analysing certain modern works of art particularly those that want to escape from the rigid framework imposed by the 'male gaze'. Clarke insists that the nude must always be idealised and in some sense the Renaissance is the beginnings of the escape from the classical ideal body to the human body per se without shame. Clarke sees this as a fall from the search for perfection and I see it as the discovery of humanity. On your second point, although I have covered art and artists working during the Baroque period I do not currently have plans to cover the Baroque. If I did I think I would start with the aims of the Counter Reformation and stick mostly with Italian Baroque painting with a mention of Flemish and Spanish artists.
