I think my face is dripping on sweat looking thirsty and all that when I came in and the owner (an old man who look like the antique guy in this video) won't accept my money when I'm trying to pay. As being born in Jeddah 🇸🇦, Saudi Arabia in 2003 , living my best childhood moments there , felt just so nostalgic even though I am an Indian but I truly consider myself a very patriotic Saudi. There will always be a very special place in my heart 💖 Long live this beautiful Kingdom and reach some extraordinary heights... 🥺❤️🇸🇦💯
@mohamedfaizan9844

Dude I’m also Indian and lived in Saudi/ UAE in my childhood as my dad worked there for 18 years. And although I also have great childhood memories from there, when I grew older I realised how badly the Gulf countries treat expats. They never treat us like equal to the locals and have no pathways to permanent residency/ citizenship. They don’t allow outsiders to mingle with the local Arab population, and actively discourage integration in schools. We are nothing but paid slaves to them, who are made use of and thrown back once our useful life is done, without any consideration of years of service. The Gulf region is literally built on the blood and sweat of Indians/ Pakistanis/ Bangladeshis (50 to 90% of their population are expats) but we will always be second grade people to them. In no other region in the world do they treat immigrants like dirt, as they do in the Gulf. You are young, but when you become mid 30s like I am, you will realise what we have actually lost by serving that region.

@@mohamedfaizan9844 Sadly It's the reality and I 100% think like that . Let's just not say we think we have experienced it first handed . But at the end to have a peaceful life than in India Its still worth it and I wish someday they would allow second citizenship to people like us My father has worked there for 25 + years too Moreover, the greatest blessings of all was that MECCA & MEDINA was just few miles away At last we should learn to be grateful for what we have got that many others only dream Still wants this kingdom to reach new heights ☺️ 🇸🇦❤️ Btw which part of Jeddah are you from and which school have you attended there ... Just curious 😄
@mohamedfaizan9844

@@Hammadali-cu2zr You have to realise that the Saudi government has monetised the fact that Mecca and Medina exist within their borders to no end. They have made such that only rich Muslims can afford to go for Hajj. You know how much it costs to do Hajj from India via a private operator? 4 lakh rupees per person! It’s daylight robbery. With that much money I can do a full world tour and come back. In all fairness, Mecca Medina should become separate countries (like the Vatican) so that they are not exploited like this.
@mohamedfaizan9844
2 жыл бұрын
@@Hammadali-cu2zr like I said, you are young and have not fully grasped how much we expats have lost our years by serving that region. Once back in India, it is very difficult for us to integrate back as we are not street smart here and are no where in the extremely difficult academic competitive race here. Our peers in Indian schools and universities are far, far ahead in their career preparation and we are left to pick the pieces. I know man, I suffered for almost a decade and had to make so many compromises before I finally found my feet here. All the money that was made in the Gulf may have been useful to buy a big house and big car in India - but it is worth nothing when you realise the damage it does to your future career. You may not believe me now at your age, but remember this msg when you are 10 years older.

Misconceptions about saudi arabia; 1) it's only a desert,WRONG,it also has green forests, and grasslands. 2)it's is hot and dry,WRONG,here it rains and also have plenty of snowfall 3)no non muslim allowed, WRONG,this kingdom has many people from different religions/cultures working as happy immigrants. You didn't told those facts in that video.

I lived here in the mid 70's as a kid and it was nice seeing it again from your point of view. If you ever get the chance to go back, go diving in the Red Sea. Spend a couple of weeks diving. It is the most beautiful place in the world I have been under water. The market was my favorite place to go to find music and toys! I've been watching your site for a few days now and the world needs more storytellers like you!

A lot freer! The magnitude of changes in the past 4-5 years is just out of this world and not even the most optimistic of us would have foreseen. It is literally about everything, not just social changes. We also acknowledge there is a lot of room for improvements as well.. We are just starting! :)
