Janus gives his name to January. Two possible reasons, it is a time to both look back to the year that has just passed, and also to look forward to the year which has just begun. It is also a two faced month. It is when the hours of daylight begin to noticeably increase after reaching the shortest in late December, but in spite of that it usually has the coldest, snowiest and frostiest weather of the year. Here is a sentence with two meanings of 'to dust' in the same sentence 'First dust the cake with sugar, then dust the kitchen bench'. Also some words can be antonyms in speech but differentiated in writing, example 'raise' and 'raze' sound alike but mean opposites. This example is also an example of a word which is both a homophone and an antonym.

Screen could be an example of Janus word...in the first sense it could be used to hide something which we often do to conceal something from outside...and the second sense it could be the one in the theatre or in that matter television where we see something through the screen...so the basic difference could be 'hide' and 'show'...dnt know if it will qualify to be a Janus
