Good list, but should add We Are Still Here as an Honorable Mention at least. Movie goes from a slow burn 1970's style ghost story to an over-the-top "ghosts get their revenge" at the end. I did not see the ending scene coming in this movie that's for sure.

Possession truly rattled me. Oddly my gf thought it was stupid but I was strangely unsettled by not only the meat thing she was banging but just seeing them argue without mercy saying totally horrible things to each other which really hit me hard. Even in the beginning. Every time they fought actually! It was just so dysfunctional and well acted it was painful to watch and hear. Interesting side note: I come from an absurdly stable family and have almost never heard my parents fight in front of me, it’s almost creepy but even after 40 years together they’re amazing, and my gf comes from the polar opposite. So while you prob thought it was my trauma making me easily effected by this movie, it was her trauma that made her desensitized to it. Thankfully she’s awesome and our family bg doesn’t have much impact on us but watching this film it was pretty clear it made a difference

Guadagnino's Suspiria is a masterpiece, definitely watch it. It's got very little to do with the original outside of the basic premise, but it's a really creepy and sometimes surprisingly touching movie which deals a lot more with the context of 70's Berlin.
