Just look at the hair and necklace. It does make a difference because it pulls the viewers eyes to a specific point which is her eyes. Thats where the focus in a classic portrait should be

Luminance is amazing, and I use virtual copies all the time when I have a picture where I want different crops for different paper sizes. I then use the color flagging to identify which image goes to which paper. I might play with the other overlays more after watching this video.

Really enjoyed your teaching style and tips on how to terrorize people with SIRI tips :-) Your summary of the 10 Tips is a great technique as well; however one question: should Tip 9 read "Virtual copies", not "Visual"? I asked SIRI and she said "yes" :-)

Hey, I had a question about Lightoom (Desktop/Classic version)- I am working between my personal computer and a separate shared workspace computer, but I didn't realise I couldn't see all the files I'd imported between both places! Is there a way around this, like maybe using the same hard drive with both computers? Could you do a video on this?!! Thanks!!

My fav lightroom feature has to be filtering the rejects -> selecting all and deleting them all from the disk by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Del (a key up from windows ctrl+alt+del !!!)

Great video with really good tips, 👍🏻 I watched because my son has said he will get me the adobe photography plan for Christmas. I Had CS5 on my old PC but never used Lightroom before! So I’m going to enrol on your Lightroom like a pro course. Can I defer the start of the course until after Christmas when I have lightroom installed? Oh and which to go for CC or classic for best results on your course?

Hello! Thank you for this and for the 3 day free course. I do not know where to ask questions about the 3 day course, so I'll just post here. For day one you talk about preferences. My Light room does not have any of those preferences. I open preferences and there is not much there at all, so I do not know how to set the things you are taking about . I am using creative cloud.

Hello. I just started using Lightroom. When I move the mouse to any preset, just the image on the top left corner changes its composition. The one in the middle of the screen doesn’t change at all (it just changes when I actually click the preset.) Can you please tell me how to make both images change the composition once I place the mouse on the preset? Thank you!

Great tips. Like the thing you did with the radial filter. Feature I like best is the Dehaze option. It can bring so must "life" back in a picture....

Yeah this whole golden ratio thing, a lil bit more myth than reality but whatever helps you get great shots is fine by me. In many instances it might work but most examples of that I have seen just naturally worked that way or were basically anyway just following the rule of thirds etc.

If you also want to reset faster as well. When you move the slider aroundm just double click the slider and it goes back to normal. Or any part of the slider

It's a bit of love-hate relationship with clarity. When I started out with LR, I loved how 'clarity' blew life in my pictures. But later when I enlarged my images, I noticed how it introduced a lot of noise to the image. Can you talk about ways to not decrease the image quality while editing?

I have 2 more hidden tricks using the control and the alt key When you are doing curves If you hold down the alt key, it will go a lot slower and you have more control over the curves. Another trick I've found is if you hold down the control key and you go to move a slider. It goes a lot slower and you have more control over it. Just thought I would share something I found

favorite feature ? hitting the delete key to remove photo from disk. Sometimes your best edit is to throw the image away, because ... it's just not worth trying to save it in post...

I'm very new to Lightroom...like days, and am just trying to learn. It seems your version is very different than the app I downloaded from the app store, and have subscribed to...any ideas? My version says version 3.0 from the App Store. I don't seem to have all the controls you have in your app. For example, I don't have the ability to toggle or even place grids in the crop tool, and don't see the "tone" panel. Is it possible that I have a "dumbed down" version?
