I've ridden many different bikes over the years. I can afford whatever I want to ride. My latest bike ( and probably my last) is a 2004 Road King Classic. I have never had so many compliments from total strangers, average citizens who don't ride. People at stop lights drop their windows, smiling, to tell me how beautiful my bike is. It's truly amazing. I agree with them, of course. I've never experienced or seen this with other bikes, even modern Harleys, with lots of custom add ons. My bike has a few bits of extra chrome, but it is otherwise bone stock. The sound, the feel, the ride is so classic! I will never get rid of this bike. I've never just sat and stared in awe at a bike like this one. I feel truly blessed and privileged. Other bikes are much faster, smoother, quieter, and have lots of technology. But for me, there is no "better bike".

I’m on my 9th Road King. Had every variation that HD put out! I can honestly say that my 21 FLHRXS is the best of the bunch; bar none!

That's a great testimony. Can I ask your opinion om the new RK special over my favourite the RK standard? Thank you

@@danthechippie4439 well for one, there apparently is no Road King Std this year; just the Special. Bigger displacement (114 vs 107) and just a sleeker version of the King) . Plus I wanted to get away from all the chrome.

I definitely agree. I traded in my 2017 Sportster for a Road King special in March of this year. I'm in love with it. I'm at 8k miles so far and want to get at least 10k by the end of this year!

Did not enjoy the video. It's got more mashed up clips to literally illustrate the narration which we hear in any case than the actual bike. If there were more shots of the harley than random people popping on my screen it would be what I came to see.

Nice video. The Road King Special is my choice as well. Not a huge fan of the fairings. Installed Windsplitter on my 2020. Love this beauty. After much trial and error with different Harleys I've finally found the one for me. My RKS will be with me for years to come. Take care.

If I'm not mistaken (and it is always possible I am) there are no longer 2 different engines for the touring and softail. The twin cam used to have an A and a B - one was counterbalanced on the solid mounted softail frames and one was not for the touring rubber mounted. With the M8, there is only 1 engine that is about 75% balanced. I have a Road Glide and a Road King (standard ,just never embraced the stretched bags, but love the blacked out look, as I have on my RG Limited (standard bags also) The RK to me is more of a pure bike, sexier, back to basics pure fun. However, I have done some really long rides and would rather have a fairing bike for long rides. It is very fatiguiing to get beat up with the wind doing 500-700 miles a day.

By going off of the information that Harley will give you, yes. They are “technically” the same engine. But. Talking to a bunch of different mechanics, I’ve always heard they have differences in them for the different frames. Such as the counter balancer. When they have to order those parts, it’s frame specific. If I’m not mistaken, it doesn’t matter as much when you start opening up to big bore kits because they need those bigger stronger parts already. But out of the gate, they are still different. But the differences in the fairing definetly have their times and places in my mind and I completely agree!

What’s your thoughts 💭 on HD changing the touring to mono in the rear like they did with the softails. I have a feeling that will be the next change on the touring line up.
@FatBoyBob
2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t heard anything about that. But I is interesting. With so much more weight on the touring bikes and a such bigger frame, it better be a beefed spring system is all I gotta say 😂 but they may not do it only because the suspension is already hidden with the bags. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it if it did happen.
