Same. Also was homeless for 2 years like another replier. I was lucky to have a partner but otherwise sleeping in shifts to make sure you don't get stabbed because another homeless person looking for drugs or harassed by the cops sucks. And then there's the portion of the population that likes messing with the homeless. Luckily they are spineless and stay away from you if you have coherence and some fight in you.

@@orionorama yes comeback kid, you are right! I never got hassled but that was because I promised myself that no one would ever touch me after I let someone hit me a few times and didn’t do anything back..then just let loose on that person the next time and he ended up leaving town after I beat him up..he was another homeless person known around the homeless scene and was a bit of a bully but never seen him after I gave him a hiding..then I ended up meeting my girlfriend aswell..been together about 5 years now I wouldn’t change it for anything..now I’ve had my own apartment since like September 2019..and my partner is studying at university now aswell..so we have improved a lot since we came off of the streets..it just took a bit of determination and no hesitation.I used to have problem with decision making for some reason but I learned if you want something..to just get up and do it without second guessing things..don’t be hesitant..anyway sorry I’m rambling ..god bless all the brothers and sisters out there on the streets who are roughing it tonight..Godbless you all..keep ya head up..good things are ahead..stay strong and stay safe ..god bless you all ..one love all the way from 🇦🇺AUSTRALIA🇦🇺 ✌️

I understand her guilt but an addict will get high no matter what and if she didn’t get the dope for him he woulda still got it somehow but the only thing I’m wondering is if it was laced with some thing and how she wasn’t affected by it because one bag of dope wouldn’t be enough to get one person high even if he’d been clean for 3 months if it was 1 bundle that would make sense but 1 bag would maybe get someone a decent high if they’d never done it b4. Either way I feel bad for her cause unlike most addict couples especially ones that r homeless and poor they seemed to actually love each other whereas most of the time it’s just a relationship of convenience and the guy usually pimps his gf to get money to get their drugs so theirs was definitely a rare case which only makes it sadder.

The kid from story #1.... Imagine stealing from the homeless when you could've just swallowed your pride and gone home. Could've possibly maybe even gone to one of his friends to ask for a snack, I'm sure they wouldn't have minded giving him something, considering his situation. I don't blame him too much for not speaking up, I can understand being scared at that moment, but there was no need to steal when he had other options to get some food.

I grew up in California in a smaller city so while our homeless population wasn't super large, people still had really harsh opinions about them. I didn't understand as a teenager (and still don't understand now) how people can separate homeless peoples' humanity from them to such extreme degrees. I get being careful around people who don't seem mentally stable, but to just completely change up on a person 'cause you find out they're living on the streets, in their car, or couch surfing never made any sense to me at all.

I lived in Anaheim for one month. Meth mom and her gang banger sons broke into my apartment and then she came up to me saying “Why do you keep looking in our apartment? You think I broke into your apartment, don’t you?” She had another meth friend a couple apartments down from hers and they left their doors open all the time and went back and forth between the two. I broke my lease. Owner tried to threaten me with a lawsuit and I told him “you told us this was a place to raise your family so let’s see if that holds up in court.” Said meth mom threatened the landlady because she kept her sons there who weren’t on the lease and the landlady quit on the spot. Two of my friends are currently homeless. One... the story is too long to explain here, but their old housemate blacklisted their family when they got sick of being treated like slaves. (Again, really long, but one example is - after being told for MONTHS they’d be busy - she dumped her dog in my friends room WHILE they were getting ready, and basically told them “if the dog dies from malnutrition it’s all your fault for not being there”. That’s not just from my friend, I was talking with them when she came in) My other friend was told “happy 20th birthday, you have a week to get out”. Practically literally. Their birthday was acknowledged for the first time since we’ve known them - minimum 5 years at that point - with cake. The next day they’re in tears because they have a week to leave. They stayed with their uncle at his caravan park for some time, but had to leave due to the law only allowing them to stay for 2 months. Both live in the same country... Actually, my first friend is planning to pick up my second friend as soon as quarantine is over, so until it’s safe to cross borders, friend two has their Caravan parked in their family’s yard, because they’re still not wanted back.

It wasn’t exactly like hers or on that level but it was still the most saddest day of my life. But I’m happy she’s clean & doing the best she can. It’s hard esp when you see that person being the strongest person in the world… your protector. May GOD Bless her & keep her. 1st one pissed me off, some spoiled kid, being a brat. Ran from their parents and steals for no legit. Reason...Causing someone else's face to get beat. Really bugged me

Hearing these stories now some of these stories hit close to home to me back in a very dark time in my life when me and my now husband chose drugs over family during those times when we were on the streets we saw alot of messed up stuff and but met some nice homeless people thankfully we swallowed are pride got sober and got our life straight and if I see a homeless I stop give them change or a burger something small can go a long way even a smile being homeless ain't no joke it's down right scary

I kinda relate to the guy getting his face bashed in by a beer bottle. I used to break stuff as a child, I was hyper active. So everything that broke got blamed on me. I stopped breaking stuff but I was still getting blamed.

I love to listen to scary stories every night before bed; you know, the ones that usually consist of skinwalkers, dogmen, etc. But I find these true life human to human ones to be the scariest. I hope I live long enough to see an end to homelessness.
