When we let employees spread their wings and fly on their own, they usually do better and they love their job because they feel respected and they feel like their ideas matter. If you can get them to think that they came up with the idea themselves, that’s the whole trick of leadership. Get them to feel like it was their idea because everyone always works on their own idea. We want to encourage and be the Yoda to our employees. Ask them about their career goals. Be the coach to help them accomplish their goals. But you can structure challenges and goals for them - this helps you to stay in control as the manager.

The use of animations make it easier on the eyes to follow the presentation. It is not the boring power point slides better known as "Death by power point", the points are solids and I truly agree with them. I am currently studying for business management and I am doing research online of how to motivate employees and by far, this is one of the best one.

My response is directed more towards owners and CEOs vs the typical middle manager who might be most interested in this video. Trying g to keep his/ her own team motivated because up top told him/her to, or the goals aren't being met. #1) Pay a decent wage. You make a healthy profit when they show up and work or you wouldn't have them there to begin with. #2) Pay a decent wage. They do the grunt work while you get to keep most the profit. #3) Pay them a decent wage. They don't really want to go to work for a job that barely affords them the basic survival needs, but it might be either that, like a few of the basic survival needs or alternating survival needs, or nothing at all right now, so they feel FORCED to go until they find something better. None if that is really motivation. It's just going because you kind of have to right now. Also, while the employee is living this life did I mention you make a nice profit on them showing up only because they feel like they have to. Asking people to mit just show up, but be motivated and excited to accept this fate for your financial benefit alone may be a bit much to expect. #4) Pay them a decent wage and do it while showing them some well deserved mutual respect and maybe even a little genuine appreciation now and then...you know, because them being there allows you to make $$ while not having to do the grunt work or face the masses or clients or customers or patients in the trenches yourself, which would probably change your outlook on how they are paid just fine if it was you doing it day in and say out instead of other people just coming in to make you $$ because they have too.

I love these clips...however I laughed at the concept of paying people EXTRA to be on time, I would think this is a minimum job requirement.

Melody Tomlinson well, paying a little extra is always a great motivator and is always an option. Some employers can afford it, so why not?

I'm sorry, but 2:12 makes me mad. As a manager, I would not give monetary rewards to my employees for simply showing up to work on time. It is their responsibility to report when their shift is supposed to start. If your employees need extrinsic motivation to show up on time, then you need new employees. That's why the labor force is so lazy now. Laziness is rewarded.

+Brandon Stone There are a few factors in learning to focus. One plan I discovered that successfully combines these is the Magic Focus Plan (check it out on google) without a doubt the best plan i've seen. look at all the unbelievable information .

It is difficult to have credibilty when there are misspelled words in the presentation. I also can't share this with my team in this form due to that. Please update after corrections.

The typos in this presentation are distracting. The methods are terribly superficial and yield, at best, short term success.

Well Ravi Kumar as a manager you need to understand and know your employees. As a manager you need to do whatever it takes to motivate your employees. A Hand written letter sounds crazy but it works. You should try it sometime.

Armando Rodriguez with all due respect. I am the Managing Director of one of the fastest growing companies in the UK. I get approached on a daily basis from people who want to work for me. The time it takes to write a letter I personally would rather buy them lunch and talk about real life not work. Maybe writing is for you personally I believe actions are stronger than words.
@LuisArmandoFILMMAKER

Well Ravi Kumar maybe writing a hand written letter is not the best option to motivate your employees in your organization. These are just simple and free ideas to help your organization get better end results. Ideas that for some people sounds a little unusual. As you already know, at the end is you the manager that would choose the best method to get the best results for your organization.

if a leader does not already know this then they are not a great leader. just giving $$ to show up on time I disagree with. it is the employees responsibility to be to work on time and part of most if not all job discriptions. This video is for someone new to a leadership roll and small business.
