I love this. I’ve worked in the corporate world all my life. Started out as a waiter at a Caesars resort when I was 16 and we served 1000 people on the weekends. Breakfast and dinner. I used to build these food trucks from 2013-2016 here in Denver Colorado. It’s crazy how much they cost but building and materials you probably spend about 10k (not including restaurant equipment). We used to get old fedex trucks for like $3000 and put all the steel sheets /FRP walls up and then do the electrical and plumbing. Then the boss would sell them for $60,000+ , definitely a good business and I’m soon going to build my self one, I have a successful carpet cleaning company but I’m ready to expand to food since it’s always been my dream

Nice episodes, but your questions barely scratch the surface of what we need to know to start a food truck. For example, how much is her profitability, food cost vs price, how many people she employs, how long the truck is open, how she went about branding, etc.. i have only watched the first episode so maybe some questions will be answered in the next one, but thats my impression after watching this one and parts 1 and 2 of the Vet Chef episodes..

Amazing things I've learned from this video: 1)three things have got to be important to you: your customers, your products and the process of making stuff 2)you are gonna have ups and downs. I am thinking of setting up a food truck and I want to start on a really minimalistic approach , not because of the initial costs but because I want to see some profitability asap. I cook a lot since I am a teenager and I think now it is time for me to start something after having worked in the corporate world . I am thinking of making French pancakes (crêpes) and homemade lemonade from an old Northern African recipe I have so something really basic and would be based in the French Caribbean as I am French it is easier (no need of work permit etc ...) but my question is more about choosing the locations and the tools to choose them , have you heard of people using sort of economic intelligence (i.e heat map ) to decide where to first try ?
