If ur a good player a 200 dollar guitar will sound like a 1000 dollar guitar
@LukeJLB
3 жыл бұрын
@@minceraftfornite4334 But it will never feel like one. The biggest difference for me between a $200 and a $1000 guitar is in build quality. I knew so many kids growing up who quit playing because their guitars were shit and they didn't feel good to play, and even with a decent setup, they'd spend half the time they intended to be playing trying to keep the things in tune. A part of me dies inside every time I see a kid pick up a cheap guitar because I know they've dramatically reduced their likelihood of sticking with it. My suggestion to guitarists looking for cheap options is always, always, always buy used, and if you can, buy guitars with cosmetic defects. I bought a Sterling St. Vincent at a discount, and then got a further reduction in price when it arrived and I found one of the pickup screws had been drilled in too far and punched through the back of the guitar creating a small chip in the finish on the back. Got a $600 guitar for $400. But don't for a second believe that there's no reason to pay more. Find a deal if you can, and you can occasionally get good guitars new for cheap, but don't make the mistake of thinking there's no significant difference between instruments in different price ranges. Also, the cheaper you go, the more likely the instrument was produced under unethical labor conditions, which is always something to avoid if you can.
@minceraftfornite4334

PureSalem make not only beautiful guitars, but ones fantastically crafted from high-quality materials! And no, I don’t work for them… I’ve just never run across a bad PureSalem. (Their La Flaca model in particular is awesome to play, and in burgundy especially it’s beautiful… although that model’s a little above the price range of the others in this video.) I’ve never known PureSalem to skimp on quality, so while all this video’s models look great, I’d gravitate to the Levitation!

Not in production currently, but the Jag-Stang wins this category for me. I was always fascinated by it and definitely want one, but could never afford it as a kid starting out in the 90s. My biggest problem with a lot of the contemporary companies' attempts to put out unique or vintage guitars is they cop out the most important aspect - the pickups. Half of these guitars were like that - here's a quirky shaped body - but we're just going to stick a couple of boring Gibson-style humbuckers in it. They need to take some lessons from old Japanese and Italian guitar makers and get creative with the *entire* instrument and not just make it a funny shape.
@thecaveofthedead

I wish millimetricinstruments made an affordable production line. They're such amazing guitars, and so different. But even if you have the money for a hand-made example, they're back-ordered for years. I'd definitely get one if the maker would set up one simple model for mass-production around $1,000 - even if it couldn't have those jaw-dropping fret-ends.

I ordered and returned 2 Sterling St. Vincent's, they both came in such bad condition that I had to send the first one back for a replacement and then send that one back too because it was just as bad as the first one. I even contacted Sterling directly with a video of how horrible this guitar played. I love Annie Clark and wanted to support but it was one of the worst guitars I've ever played. It was all the builders fault too. The set up was horrible horrible; sharp frets, high action, fretting out, no tuning stability, etc etc. I was almost impressive how bad it was. The pick ups were ok. I really didn't want to accept that the guitar was this bad but when the 2nd one was exactly as bad as the 1st, I gave up. I do own 2 Hagstroms and a Reverend, I love those to death... especially Reverend.
