How u recognize the Ic chip is damaged? When we not have feedback voltage, first we check resistants in feedback rail. But you first go to Ic chip directly

in any SMPS first check point is DC rail, then VCC capacitor then output capacitor then feedback circuit feedback circuit is the lastest step

@@HaseebElectronicsI watched it again carefully. I made a mistake. I thinked at first time, you said feedback pin. But in real you said refrence pin. Yes, when refrence pin has no voltage, the IC chip is damage 👍

Good . sir can you pls make a video to decrease the output supply of smps. i tried once with changing the voltage divider network to with trim pot but when decreasing. the voltage getting low and after few steps of rotation the voltage jumps to high I need to change 12v 2amps smps to 5v

no we cannot inject external reference voltage because these volatge are also used for internal biasings for the chip and external for ocillation and error amplifiers biasing

refernce volatge are 5 volt at pin number 8 of 384X series IC ( 3842, 3843, 3844, 3845) these are provided by its internal voltage regulator these will provide biasing for error amplifiers, oscillator section and internal circuit of the chip

when the output is available. that is assumed the reference voltage are good in my previous many videos i demonstrated to test refernce volatge it is 4.95 to 5 volt if refence voltage are not good, the output will not stable or low output or SMPS will start whistelling sounds
