Gameplay of the hidden character Kitana in Midway/Netherrealm’s Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.
My girl’s back for the final time, and luckily, she rocks. She’s not quite combo-happy as Johnny, but she can really still hold her own. Her Fan Lift now acts as it should, with you being able to follow it up with the Square Wave Dash, or with any other move you wish. She also has her Fan Throw, though I didn’t find this overly useful. Her combos are a sight to behold though, considering her opponent to spin in the air and making them susceptible to air launchers. She has a dive kick attack for her Square air move, which she can use over and over again, and with timing and decent luck you can even then knock a grounded enemy make into the air for a potential infinite. Hell, if you’re up against a wall then she can use a Triangle Air attack to knock the enemy higher again, allowing you to get in get another wave of dive kicks.
Basically, Best Girl here is brilliant and it’s kinda crazy you can’t play as her regularly considering how damn powerful she actually is. Missed opportunity, that’s all I’m saying. Kitana is a huge upgrade on her paltry boss version, and it’s great that she got moveset so viable in the main game.
Up next, another character significantly improved by their playable counterpart.
Also, holy shit, her neck in the cutscenes, ahahahahha. The Bigger Luke Theory™ strikes again.
