The 'Whitby Jet' rail tour returns for its second trip to Whitby on the Esk Valley line via Battersby and Grosmont en route to Whitby.
On the return leg from Whitby, the HST struggles for traction on the slippy rail head due to drizzle, rain, tight curves and leaves and sludge on the track between Grosmont and Glaisdale.
Hand sanding is used to help the Blue Pullman gain traction.
The 'Whitby Jet' Midland Blue Pullman rail tour organised by 'Midland Pullman' and operated by Locomotive Services Ltd.
One of the withdrawn Intercity 125 high speed train (HST) sets has been refurbished and repainted into the livery if the "Midland Pullman" that ran in the 1960s and 1970s between Manchester and London St. Pancras and was one of the first modern type diesel electric multiple units in Britain.
