When things go back to normal, and NAMM starts holding shows again, I recommend going to it, where you'll find many of the top names in the field, and many up-and-comers, in attendance. All of them are terrific people, eager to talk, generous with their advice, and only too happy to help each other out.

Do Earthquaker actually offer a DOD250-type od? I know that Jamie loves that circuit, everyone says it's still his favourite overdrive. This film is about more than pedals - it's almost like a partial history of modern music. Phillipe's RAT pedal obsession shows in the design of the Wave Cannon - I freakin' love that thing!

@@kevmac1230 As someone who’s built a few guitars now and done a few minor repairs on my car, I’d say that soldering is a difficult thing to teach or learn. You just gotta do it a few times. Get a cheap iron (I started on a $7 harbor freight piece of crap) get some cheap solder, and find a few strands of wire and just practice over and over trying to get good clean connections. When you can repeat the outcome to a consistent level you can go buy a Weller or something better with interchangeable tips and spend a bit more on some accessories and better solder. I found the lead free stuff doesn’t work to well for me. I like the leaded stuff still, I just pop the garage door open with a fan on. There’s a lot of video on KZitem that helped me pick up some of the basic techniques but you really gonna learn from experience

I wonder how many of these builders can name all the pedal firsts invented by Fran. And I wonder why they got the screen time and none of her pedals were mentioned. Why did she not speak about anything technical about pedals? This whole movie smacks of Payola…
