I'm curious. How do you clean the inside of the gun barrel??!! There are spiral striations that propel the bullet. With all that rust are the striations affected???!!! BTW, very good work!!!!

It's called "rifling". And even if it's rusted and pitted it can still work, but lead deposits may be left in the bore when the gun is fired.

Where do you get one of these devices to take off the rust?, I have found a Luger gun and want to clean it up a bit 😊
@patrickdobbins1269

You can soak it in rust remover and used a wire brush attached to a drill to clean it up.

Now, all you have to do is clean the barrel out by blasting off a few rounds through it.

You did outstanding job on a very rusty pistol. I'm sure it took a while to accomplish this. Did you test fire it.

You would have to be completely Bonkers to fire this pistol.... This was just to make it look "OK" so to put it on a shelf or somewhat a "showpiece"... It is definitely NOT a firing weapon... If you watch at the end you can see that the cylinder no longer index or even spins when the trigger is pulled (Missing Hand?)..... Nope now just a pretty toy for the wall, which is fine...

May look ok but it is far from safe to shoot. You never weld a crack over a chamber which is what the bore in the cylinder is. Plus, how much material did you remove from the cylinder walls. Did you alter the head space between the cylinder face and the breach? Lastly, did you even chase the rifling? Very unsafe.

It's just so it looks "nice" but definitely not something people should replicate to clean up a firearm

I agree, these people that do this is more about the money than anything, id like to know I could half ass restore a gun and add what I think would work to act like I care and really just a good paying job to them.

You saying this dude does that?
@Chris-yv9tv

@nggaish Maybe, but I think he uses more than one gun for parts and he doesn't say,or even using wrong parts and file them down,so yea I guess I am.
