@Hot Pants Not really. As a reporter, I'm trained to seek facts, not opinions. If read the reports on guns that were not kept properly clean and had not been used for years. Until someone fired them and they blew up in there hands. Either killing them or maiming them for life. I own a double barreled shot gun. The cold rolled steel has crystalized to the point any attempt to fire it, it will explode. Since I have idiots in my family who don't know how to take no for an answer. I have plugged the barrels in such a way that only I can remove them. You have Merry Christmas and have a wonderful day.

Great job considering how bad it was. One suggestion that might save you some time. Based on the splatter, I guess you're using .030 flux core welding wire. If you can weld with gas shielding and .023 wire, you will be able to lay down smaller less porous beads and it will reduce the amount of material you have to file greatly. The lower heat will make it easier to weld thin metal.

I got a ww2 era revolver in a quite the same condition, I’ve been meaning to start around it. Cool video
@wtrdawnlord
Жыл бұрын
Please don't. Either leave it in its current condition or take to it a professional gunsmith...who will likely tell you to put it with scrap metal if it really is in as a bad a condition as this weapon was. The restoration done in this video did not improve the value of the weapon one bit, but also made it much more dangerous. I saw no restoration of the inside of the barrel which means if anyone ever tries to fire it and the firing pin still works it will definitely misfire and very likely at least badly hurt whoever is holding it, potentially hurt anyone nearby, and possibly kill any of them. Restoring a firearm is very, very different to restoring almost anything else. If you don't know *exactly* what you are doing you can turn a hunk of rust into a hand grenade but doesn't look like a hand grenade.

The value of this piece has without a doubt increased. It went from probably about $0 to upwards of $50 in my appraisal. The people who would possibly try to shoot this are the same that drink bleach and eat tide pods. I don’t think there is anything to worry about.

I'm not an expert on the subject. But this gun looks like a 1900~1905 Webley. The format of how bullets need to be inserted shows this. The material appears to be much more modern than what was used in the Colt era.
