Early morning tide change = large Chinook. This past couple of weeks the bite has been within a half hour either side of the tide change. I’ve been fishing the bottom looking for large Chinook but due to a friend’s advice fished 40’ down in 50-100’ of water and picked up this nice 17# buck. I used an Islander MR3 reel on a Prolite Takedown 10’6” rod with a purple flasher and a Stacking Bodies Pound Cake lure with a strip of salted herring. Scotty High Performance downriggers with Orca rod holders.
Yesterday landed a couple of nice Coho salmon in the same area.
