One of our favorites! The 1861 Springfield rifled musket. Over a million made and the most used long arm during the American Civil War. 58 caliber, it fired the burton minie ball with a service charge of 60 gr of powder (black powder). Southern soldiers often threw down their Enfield rifled muskets in favor of the Springfield because of its' simplicity, excellent production, and ammunition availability (the American cartridges were different than the British Pritchett cartridges). Nothing too in depth in this video, just checking it out.
