Gotta love those late '40s luxury cars. The pinnacle of style.

Nice Buick...I love the color and the Buick "portholes". Automatic transmission too, on a '49!

The first car with an automatic was the 34 REO with what they called the Self Shifter.

The Buick '49' is of a wonderful colour and charming shape. Will mesmerise most of the people who love cars of that era 1940 to1949.

Don't buy one with a Dynaflow. Get a manual transmission Super only or you'll regret it someday.

It look better with a "baseball cap" sun visor over the windshield. This car is great for taking friends or family to the baseball game on the discount price.

It's funny how we didn't care about safety back then. Maybe people weren't so crazy when they got behind the wheel.

Lloyd, What might a 49 Roadmaster Sedanette PROJECT be worth ? I am going to look at one in a few days, rusty rockers (sat in wet garage) but complete (supposedly) and comes with extra engine. In the US, they are firm at 5K, has not run in years. Thanks

I'm in Australia and I'm guessing you're in the US? A '49 Roadmaster sedanette is worth a little more than a '49 Super sedanette, although I don't think there's a whole lot in it personally, just exclusivity! I avoid basket cases as I don't have the welding skills. If the sills are rusty, I'm guessing floor pans etc. also need replacement. It really depends on condition, but if it's all there, $5k still sounds like a bargain. The purchase price is only a small part of the total rebuild cost, how much you'd like a '49 Roadmaster sedanette and how much you're prepared to spend to get it on the road. Would love to see a pic. lloyd.hammond@bigpond.com

Beautiful car - but - horrible music that does not fit 1949.
