The Bush TR82C is an iconic early 1960s British transistor radio in its familiar David Ogle designed cabinet and was built between 1959 and 1964.
Bush were one of the last British manufacturers to build a transistor radio, some 3 years after the first British transistor radio appeared on the market (the 1956 PAM 710 built by PYE). Modifications were made during its production notably to its transistor complement, early examples included first generation OC series transistors, the later ones had AF117 transistors. The AF117 has proved to be one of the most unreliable transistors ever made, early transistors are much better. This 1961 TR82C still has its original early transistors and is still working well, indeed all its components are original.
