What headers are y'all using with the Coyote swap on the F100's.... stock Coyote headers or aftermarket?

Ronnie Smith we use the stock headers most of the time. When we can’t, we make our own.

We use stock headers on the 67-72. We make the headers for the 73-79

Stock Coyote headers don't work in 2wd 73-79s with stock steering. On 4x4s, the steering box is very far forward, allowing the stock headers. But then the motor mounts are completely different.

Robert Phillips Thanks for the replay Robert, I'm building a 67 with a Vic front end and Kyle Howard's relocation mounts and motor mounts. I've since found out the stock headers work ( so I've been told )

Would this kit require any modifications for a 73 F250 highboy?

Adam Hopper the highboy is narrower. If I recall, so wouldn’t work precisely. I need to get a highboy in to make sure

@@FatFenderGarage Now that you mention that, I remember that being a problem. I'm inheriting my dad's truck, and it needs a new engine. The Coyote swap seems just about perfect for what I want, but it looks like it'll be quite a bit of work.

@@FatFenderGarage 4x4 Frame is same width front to back (34"). 2WD frames get wide after the back of the cab, so theoretically, the frame width at the back of the transmission should be same for 2wd and 4wd. The stock frame crossmembers are all in different locations though.

Remember when my 80 ford ranger 3o2 went boom Picked on up another with my last dollar from a hotrod Chevy! guy that had an uncle with a ford truck that died but had a good motor with 79m miles Long story short The 79 and 80 cross Member and front end geometry differed which required the oil pan sump // low end of pan switched from front to back. Therefore, the older motor would not fit as that sump was forward Hindsight : was obvious if side by side but never owning a ford truck and the short time before motor blew and not pulling motor until I purchased another ... well, you get the idea... Nice.
