Beautiful! A few years ago my nephew completed a restoration on a 1978 Gold Wing. And I, as a retread rider have gotten back into riding with a 1998 GL1500CT Valkyrie Tourer.

Great job on the restoration! Good luck finding an original exhaust system. Here in the UK they're near impossible to find so I was amazed when I found a new old stock one still in the original Honda packing crate! Cost me more then the bike but I had to have it...

Very nice gl1000. Light, low, quiet, fast and so smooth. No other motorcycle was close to that bike in 1975. Even today, it’s hard to beat. Never sell my red 75. Dave

Very pretty. Almost bought one of these years ago, could have been a twin to this one. I went to see it and the seller was telling me how he couldn't figure out why the bike was running strangely (this was why he was selling it). He said it started fine but then ran oddly after warming up. When I took it for a test ride, I noticed that the choke knob was already pulled out, but didn't think anything of it. It started right up. After it warmed up, I pushed the choke knob back in, bike seemed to run fine. Rode it for a bit, streets, freeway, all good. I decided to try putting the choke back on, and sure enough, it started stumbling and of course unburned fuel smell from the exhaust. Pushed the choke knob back in, back to being good. I took the bike back to the seller, asked him if he wanted to sell it if it was running good. He said he'd like to keep it but he was out of ideas as to why it ran poorly. I told him that he was forgetting to take the choke out after the bike warmed up and demonstrated it. He decided to keep the bike. That's what I get for being honest. He was asking a fairly low price for the bike, too. I really like the original GL1000 model, too.

Are you still interested in buying one. I know of a couple that are available in pristine condition.

Very nice job on the bike. Your bike is awesome. I have an 81 goldwing, it needs a lot of love 😮

I think there are still a lot of GL1100s around, but not so mant 1000s.

No. these are after market. Just today, the owner dropped off and OEM exhaust system that just came back from ceramic coating.
