We're diving back into the ongoing project, our 1976 Chevrolet Malibu, a true favorite of ours. This iconic car has been a labor of love, and we're excited to show you some of the recent work we've been doing on it.
As you can see, our Malibu is a bit dirty, but that's just a consequence of it not being driven much lately. We have a lot of trees and birds around, and it's just how it goes when you own a classic car in nature's surroundings.
Now, let's talk about the recurring problem we encounter every year. The needle and seat in the Holley carburetor keep going bad due to the ethanol in today's fuel. This issue arises during the winter months when the car is parked. Ethanol tends to dry up the seals, causing fuel to flood the carburetor.
In this video, you'll see us taking apart the carburetor, draining the excess fuel and replacing the needle and seat. We'll also share some tips on adjusting the float and fixing the issue without spending a fortune and without expensive tools. We aim to keep this classic beauty running smoothly and enjoy every moment behind the wheel. Stay tuned for more updates on our Malibu and other exciting projects.
