Johnny Henderson ran a 4.32 40 yard dash… Unheard of for a white boy at that time… Still amazing 45 years later.

I saw this game live with my dad. Years later my dad & my dear late mom would meet & get to chat with former Cowboys: Tony Dorsett, Tony Hill, & Robert Newhouse at a small getogether for Dorsett's birthday. All three were very friendly & nice, but Dorsett stood out as a genuinely friendly & funny guy at the party. Very gracious towards my parents, who were honored to meet him. Plus, they all signed birthday cake plates for us!

ckobo84, Dorsett cut to the inside to set up his blocker. He cuts left so the DB goes left, which puts his blocker between himself and the DB. Then breaks right but his teammate missed the block/the DB made a great play.

My mom acutally accidently bumped into Tony Dorsett at an airport in Birmingham. At first she just said, "Oh I'm sorry" but then once she realized who she bumped into, she said in a more shocked deeper toned voice, "oh..... I'm.... sorry!" He actually signed a napkin and gave it to her. God damnet why can't something like that happen to me?

I have always been upset that my freshman year at Pitt began in September 1977. Although we went on to dominate Collegiate football for a number of years, I never got the opportunity to see Tony run. Before I leave this Earth I really want to meet him one day. He seems like a very special person.

0:51 "He's tough to corral for a whole ballgame. He always comes up with one big run in the ball game." That was Dorsett in his NFL career as well. You might hold him to little or nothing the whole game, then one play he breaks off a 70 yard run. A big play back if there ever was one.

I miss real games. I'm a 49ers fan and they are playing for the NFC championship. My enthusiasm is about as much as winning a dollar on a one dollar scratch off knowing football is fake and predetermined outcomes. Every year it gets worse.

There probably was some doubt, because of his size. But what he did in the pros should only solidify his legacy. Look at that jump cut and burst he did in this video. Can you name anyone thats com a long since then, that could do that kind of thing? He was special. And for him to dominate NCAA and leave as the all-time rushing leader, then go pro and retire 2nd all time NFL Rusher, says volums about his greatness. He's the most underrated athlete, not just RB, but athlete, in NFL history.

Comment made 7 years ago, so should consider it my lucky number? Either way, Dawgs were ALWAYS overrated regardless of their record or bowl game. I know it sounds weird, but "private" clubs such as Free-Masons I think have a LOT to do with certain SEC teams. Probably because of the "booster" members of these "clubs", and teams like Bama seem to benefit the most nowadays, as far as getting top rated players...but this is of course strictly OFF the record...I think?

No it wasn’t Year before in 2nd game of the season, unlike SEC teams and big eight teams at the time they weren’t afraid to go on the road and play a big-time opponent Oh, and later that year Oklahoma lost 23 to 3 to Kansas. Pitt then kick the crap out of Kansas in their bowl game three 100 yard rushers It was a different team by the end of 1975. Oklahoma would have probably won but a rematch later that year against Oklahoma wouldn’t have been 46 to 10 I can guarantee you that

He should of just stayed to the right and easy touchdown, guess he didn't realize his own speed and how he was running away from the guy on the right side, you couldn't watch yourself on the scorboard then! lol. I guess he wanted a challenge, set up his block well, don't know how it was missed?

My favorite running back of all time, GO COWBOYS!!!! He could do everything, catch out of the back field, short yardage, nothing he could not do..unlike some guy named Barry Sanders. Sanders was NEVER as good as Tony, never.

Felony Strutter oh please Sanders could do things Dorsett never dreamed of and he did it on shit teams with poor to average qbs...Dorsett never sniffed 2000 yds with the talent he had around him...even Sanders college numbers dwarf Dorsetts...the only back who may - May- have been better than Sanders was Jim Brown...maybe...to be honest as great as Dorsett was he isn't even top 5 maybe not top 10 all time

@sixsixxsixxxx Sir you have to understand that is what made him special he did not get the carries Barry Sanders got Tony made the most out of the carries he got he did not have to carry the ball a lot Dallas had many weapons while in Detroit Barry Sanders was the offense get your facts right 😊

I have to also say Tony Dorsett set the standard in college football for greatness his record of 6,082 yards stood for a long time until Ricky Williams broke the record and he is easily one of the greatest NFL running backs of all times in most of his years he rushed for over a thousand yards with only been 5-11 190 pounds again get your facts right 😊
