The Vauxhall VX 2300 GLS, a rare executive car from 1978, is one of only two remaining models. The VX 2300 GLS was an update of the Victor/Ventora FE and was positioned between the Cortina Mk III and the Ford Granada. The VX featured a new grille, a more comfortable cabin, and modifications to the engines, suspension, and rear axle. It was equipped with power-assisted steering, four headlights, front fog lamps, metallic paint, a vinyl roof, pile carpet, velour upholstery, and Continental armrests. However, the car received mixed reviews, with Car magazine describing it as "ten years out of date" and "uninspiring." In late 1977, the GLS model gained tinted glass and a push-button radio. The VX range was eventually replaced by the Carlton in 1978. The VX design was sold to Hindustan Motors in India, where it was produced as the Contessa from 1984 to 2002. The VX 2300 GLS is now considered a classic and is praised for its upgraded engine and clean styling.
