Lisa Ingebretsen was my first coach. Her bar routine here was awesome.

+katfish423 I know lol... I always went barefoot on the beam because footies, which was what we wore back then, were all the rage. I didn't like sliding off the beam on my side aerials! And I never wore grips for the same reason- couldn't feel the bars and you had to hold on tight to stay on!

Nothing like falling and nailng the side of you leg on the beam. The bruises were AWESOME. No waynwould I wear footies. It would be like sliding on ice.

This is so true like I don't get why they deduct them so much for a hop or step on a landing, especially with how difficult some dismounts are now smh

It's amazing to see just how much the sport has changed in my life time let alone from it's formation in the nineteenth century. I do wish that more the "artistry" were brought back to artistic gymnastics because now it has become more about doing dangerous stunts and less about the art of movement on an apparatus.
