Beautiful car! Our family had 3, a 79, 81 and 84. The resume on the cruise works when you’ve set the speed you want, brake and slow, then hit resume to get back to the set speed. When you switch it on off, you reset the speed lock. So, you have to start all over again. With respects to the English/Metric, it’s for the speedometer. It should change the ac unit too, to Celsius vs Fahrenheit.

Nice Car. My father bought one brand new at Smith-Lee Oldsmobile Cadillac in Orange, Texas. His was the bright red (it was a "Eldorado Only color" with a white top and white interior. It had the 8-6-4. We only had it 7 months and he found another car 81 Seville Diesel so my Great Aunt and Uncle bought the Eldorado. They traded in 1983 for something easier to drive (they were in their 80's) called a Cadillac Cimarron

I had an 83 Eldorado a while back and something it had that it looks like this had but I don't think was mentioned It looks like it has telescopic steering wheel too. I notice that there wasn't too many bumps that you noticed, is that because of the "air shock" levelers? MY trunk had a different type of closing mechanism you would gently push the trunk down until it clicked then it would "pull" the trunk to the closed position automatically even whent he car was off. Also with the trunk if you put heavy things in it you could hear the ride levelers raising. Mine had a feature that I haven't seen on any eldo's from 79-85 but when you would push the gear shifter into park it would unlock the doors, and when putting into drive, when the speed got to about 15 mph would auto lock the doors. It might've even been at a lesser speed for locking, because once at a car wash the driver drove toward the car was with the door partially open gave it gas then once the wheels "caught the groove" then got out, closed the door, and the doors locks auto locked (with the keys in the ignition and the car running). When the car came out the other end the doors were locked with the keys in the ignition and running, I had to contact someone to bring a duplicate set of keys to the wash so we could get into it.

The 6.0 liter 8-6-4 made all of 140 horses for 1981 which ironically was the same as the Olds 307 V8. The difference was the 6 liter had 265 LBS FT of torque compared to 240 for the Olds engine so it had better off the line grunt.

Incredible, just beautiful. All that majestic care over 42 years and the Original owner allowed the dealer to stick their badging on the car? Even when I was a kid many decades ago, I never saw the reason behind having that, plus it doesn't enhance the looks of cars. It's too late for this car, but should've never been. I can't count the number of majestically kept & treasured old Caddys I've seen & most of those have Dealership Emblems. I don't get it 🤔 ? I bought a new CT5 V-Series & assure you my dealer didn't "stick" their badge on my trunk lid. My thoughts.. People didn't/don't care about that & that doesn't make sense?
