The cooling tube doesn't have to come off. Nor do the intake manifolds. They can be rotated out of the way. The ACV needs to come off the top though. They slide right out from there.

Damn that was painful to watch. Good filming. Thankfully Honda didn't make it that hard.

To me it was a very dependable bike. I had 130,000 miles and still ran strong

5.31.21. The GL1200 models in particular, have cooked Stator windings issues…..test the 3 phase AC output from the Stator, a new Stator Winding puts out around 70vac @ 3k rpm. They are the 3 yellow wires. The voltages should be close in output…..1-2 2-3 1-3 phases. A big discrepancy like, 50vac. 70vac. 50vac means that the windings insulation is breaking down. It only gets worse…..⚠️ and you have to pull the engine to replace it😞
