I find it hard to drive a l03 after starting with a L98 3rd gen. Its like wheres all my power at . I had it parked with my other 3 L98 cars and it was alway like 1 of these things is not like the other. ran great and had a nice sound. Kinda the cruising 3rd gen .Good job on resurrecting it. Im all about bring cars back from the dead/yard

Yeah the L98s had a lot more power. I had a 91 convertible with the L98 and I absolutely loved that car. this was my 3rd 3rd Gen. I love these cars and I don't know why. I bought this car for $400 and spent about $1600 fixing it back up. I wound up selling it just a little after I made this video due to work reasons but I am about to find another one and probably do a LS swap or just something crazy to it. I'd like to find another convertible but they are so hard to find now a days and when you do find them they are complete trash or they want $13k for them.

Bsims50 You should look into a LM3 swap every bit as good as a LS1 1/3 the price. its the iron block 5.3 truck motor . its basically a 327 lsx motor . I have 1 built on a stand and it puts out more hp then my ls1 with the same mods just a little less torque. Also look for v6 verts easier to find in good shape
@Bsims50

sorry for the late reply. I am thinking of a LS2 or LQ9. I had a 2007 silverado that I hopped up so I know all about the 5.3l. I would up taking that motor out and sticking a LQ9 in it. big difference in torque between the two motors.

I had the same problem. it will start with starter fluid but wouldn't stay running. my problem turned out to be the prom. I would look into replacing it but I'm not sure the '86 had the security key so you might not need it. but they are cheap ($60). I replaced the distributor, the ICM,ECM, plugs, I cleaned the injectors(mine was a Tbi so it was easy), I replaced all the fuel lines, pump and filter. it was a pain for sure!!
