I used one just like it as my on stage backup every weekend from 1998 - 2003. I changed pickups in it but it served me well for 5 plus years and for a while, it even became my #1 after a motorcycle wreck because it was so light.

To anybody still on the fence about buying Scott's 200+lessson package for $25 : it's hard to imagine the money better spent! I've had many hours fun perusing them and still haven't touched bottom, and don't expect to before I die! Scott - I hate my white pickguard! What's a good way to modify its look without buying a new one? Paint, markers, decals, stick-ons - what if I'd just like a flat black? What works well, if anything?

I wanted a cheap strat during the mid-90's and found a cream colored one for $110 (new) at a local music store. It needed a full setup, which at the time I didn't know how to do. Years later, I decided to rebuild and repaint it. I learned a lot about setups and rebuilding guitars from this one. Because the guitar was so cheap, I didn't worry about messing up the paint and build, but it turned out very nice. These guitars are bullet-proof workhorses and that's why I won't get rid of it.

Digging your new ScottGrove KZitem Logo. Very well done. And now onto topic, largely because of you, Scott, over the past few years I have been working my way admittedly slowly through your lessons, and I now have more +/-50 Peavey USA guitars and bass's. So long as you keep driving the market value up, some day these will fund my retirement. If not that, a really nice funeral.

I bought a Peavey Strat like guitar for $50.. it was a nice shape. I bought it from the guy that bought it new years ago. He was only asking $50 for it so I did not try to beat him up on that price.. because of that price I really didn’t look at the guitar that close.. I should have.. I could have sawed down a tree with the frets. i spent hours filing the ends.. adjusting the release and the intonation was pretty straightforward, but the neck is not in line with the body..I loosened all of the screws holding the neck to the body, and pulled the neck sideways , then retightened the screws while pulling on the neck.. I am proved it but the strings are still not centered on the fretboard..

Crazy - just watched this and afterwards was prowling the local Craigslist and sure enough there is a USA Predator with upgrades sitting there for under $300. Fender locking tuners, the N3 noiseless pups...Wilkinson bridge...920D harness. It appears to be in good shape. :-) Oh - the black guard really looks good on yours.

Hiya Scott, I was so happy 2 days ago when I found a Lefty Peavey Predator Plus in a local pawn shop. Mint condition finish, great looking neck with locking tuners and frets that looked like they were factory new! They only wanted a $100 so I bought it. While giving her a cleaning and a set of new strings I had a long look at it. The neck had a twist that was hard to notice in the store so back it went. The store agreed that the neck was fooked and they refunded me and offered it back to me for $50 but I looked into replacement necks and a Predator neck is wider at the base and a strat neck would be sloppy in the pocket so someone else can grab it for parts. I am bummed because they are nifty little axes that are inexpensive but not cheap! Enjoy your holidays Doctor.
