One of my favorites. Loved watching Johnny ride in to town on his beautiful horse. No man cooler than Johnny Madrid.

Loved this series as a kid in 1968-70 & enjoy watching all of them on YT. This is one of my favorite episodes. How realistic it was when Andy shows up at the hotel "for all the fun" & Johnny grabs his ears & lets him know this isn't fun & shoves him in the hotel door. It actually made me jump a little! I bet Andy's ears were a bit sore after that scene.

The horse James Stacy rode on the series was his personal horse, given to him by John Wayne, who he met after his ex-wife Kim Darby did True Grit, the name Barranca(sp?)was the horse's name when he got it.

In the 1967 episode of Bonanza, Kim Darby's character named her horse Barranca which means "Deep Gully". The episode was The Sure Thing and also starred Tom Tully.

So sad when all someone can do is bring up the prison mistake. Did you forget about JS accident of being hit by a drunk driver that killed JS friend, crushed his left arm, ripped his left leg off at the croch with just a piece of exposed bone. So James lost his left leg and his left arm after it was amputated above the elbow. His promising career cut short as Hollywood didn't seem to find him acting jobs do to his disability. There are always idiots that can only talk about that 1 mistake. Could you cope loosing what JS did? Let him Rest in Peace 🙏. I will Remember James Stacy with Love, Respect and Understanding 💖💖💖💖💖

THIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL EPISODE, TO WATCH. THE RAPPORT BETWEEN ACTORS, JAMES STACY & BILLY MUMY WAS VERY GOOD. JOHNNY WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT BIG BROTHER TO ANDY, THE SAME WAY SCOTT & JOHNNY ARE. JOHNNY WAS A GREAT TEACHER, IN THIS ALSO. HE TAUGHT ANDY THAT WANTING TO KILL A MAN WAS NOT A GAME. HE ALSO TAUGHT ANDY THAT HATING & KILLING WAS NOT A GOOD EDUCATION TO LEARN FOR GROWING UP. AS JOHNNY TOLD SCOTT, IN "THE FIX IT MAN" I LEARN MY LESSONS THE HARD WAY. WELL HE WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER. EVEN WHEN HE BECAME JOHNNY MADRID, HE GAVE THE (2) MEN IN QUESTION & CURIOSITY WHO BROUGHT HIM TO TOWN TO KILL THEM. EVEN THOUGH JOHNNY DID NOTHING MORE, THAN SIT IN A ROCKING CHAIR, & ROCK, HE GAVE THE 2 MEN ALOT TO THINK ABOUT ALL TO MAKE ANDY REALIZE WHAT HE WANTED JOHNNY TO DO, WAS WRONG. IN THE LONG RUN, ANDY CAME TO HIS SENSES, AND DID REALIZE THAT WHAT HE WANTED JOHNNY TO KILL THE MEN WAS WRONG. AND IN THE LONG RUN JOHNNY BECAME THE BEST TEACHER, & THE BEST ADOPTED BIG BROTHER A KID COULD HAVE.(NOTE) I THINK THAT WHEN MURDOCH ASK JOHNNY WHAT DID HE DO, SO LONG WHEN HE WAS AWAY? HE REPLIED OH NOTHING, JUST SETTING IN A ROCKING CHAIR, ROCKING. HE COULD HAVE TOLD MURDOCH & THE FAMILY THE REAL TRUTH, & THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN REAL PROUD OF THE WAY HE ACCOMPLISH THE TASK & LESSON. KUDOS TO JOHNNY & ANDY JOHNNY LANCER(TEACHER IN THE MAKING). A LANCER FAN🎥😀

The actor who played The Kid (Billy Mumy) told a funny and true story about this episode. When Johnny was in the tub with the barber a group of nuns came visiting the set and James Stacy slipped off the little privacy piece he was wearing under the water and stood up buck naked in front of the nuns, saying "Welcome to the show, sisters!" 🤠

This story is not true. Billy Mumy is a big liar. Someone asked Wayne Maunder about it and he said it NEVER happened. James was a gentleman and not even the production would make such a freak.
@seerstone8982

Billy also said Stacy took him into town for hotdog's, and he picked up two girls, and brought back to his set trailer. He said the girl's had LSD, and James took some, and asked him if he wanted some, Billy declined.
